I totally agree. So did my husband ( whom knows nothing about yarn other than, I have way too much, lol) when I showed him other 4 weights I had sitting nearby. Also, totally not a roving yarn. I LOVE roving because it seams to give a softer feel and a beautiful halo. I would have felt misled if I had purchased it because it was listed as a roving.
Wow, you have taught me something NEW today. I never knew they could BLOW yarn through a tube of mesh like that to make it LOOK like a roving or other style they say it is. WOW. Great knowledge to KNOW. Thanks for teaching!
I met a wonderful lady at a pioneer fair on Saturday. We got to talking about crochet. She said let me show you my go to girl on tutorials. And she showed you! 😊 I said. Yes! I love her.
You go, girl you tell it like it is shame on Lionbrand! And I do trust your opinion Crystal if you can’t trust you who can you trust? Your opinion counts for more than you think! Thank you for the review again Lionbrand.
Only at the 10 min mark and I’ve laughed out loud twice, loud enough to have my son ask if I was ok😂. And then he heard your voice. “Ah…..Crystal is on”❤
Watched your review, from start to finish; including the Ads! Love the shirt and hat, combo! Have a wonderful evening, and thank you for ALL you do! #bodfamrocks ⚓️🔔💙
Crystal you are killing me! 😂😂😂 Edit: How dare they try to pull one over on the roving Queen!!! 🤣🤣🤣 I love roving too so I'm super glad for the heads up! ❤❤❤
That was an outstanding review of that yarn. It makes me feel like if I were to go buy the yarn, I would know exactly what I am what to expect from the yarn. I agree, I thought it was a bulky 5, not a 4. It looked thicker, but it was beautiful. Beautiful yarn, beautiful transition in the coloring. A very wonderful review. Thank you so much. 😊😊
I actually have never heard of a blown yarn. Interesting. And just with you handling it and showing it to us I wouldn't have thought it was roving either just because it seemed to be one size
Hi Crystal. As always I value your opinions. I agree with you not a roving style and I see more of a 5 weight. You can definitely see the shrinking and how its coming apart after washing and drying it. So this old lady will be passing on this, sorry Lion Brand.
You should write them you opinion explaining to them the difference so that they know they can't try & fool the public. You do have the experience after all. I'm glad you put this information out there for the public. I had know idea yarn was so complex. ❤
Your knowledge amazes me every time you drop a video! Thank you for the lesson on blown yarn, very interesting. While it is pretty and probably very soft, it is way overpriced and won't be landing in my basket anytime soon. Thank you for sharing your opinion Crystal! Have a great day. 🩵
Love your honest opinions. I’ve never heard of blown yarn, so thank you for explaining what it is. Thank you for your detailed review. Obviously you do know better. 😁👍💜🇨🇦
I learned something new, I never knew there was a thing called blown yarn. I'm so glad I watched this video. I love your honest opinions. I always listen to what you think and I will go look and see if I think it's something I would use. Thanks for the lesson, love you Crystal!!!!!
Nothing bothers me more than a color transition yarn that they have run out of.. and tied on more. .. of a non transition color. And its happened to me many times.. especially with Lion Brand . Thank you for the review Crystal. ❤
I just ran across this using Lion Brand Landscapes Renewed. It wasn't only tied together, but I had to cut off the extra ends. I am new to crocheting and yarn in general. Thank you for letting me know I'm not alone.
Bulky 5 for sure. Original landscape stretched out of shape when I made wearables. This looks better. Ok that's what I call stretched. Shrunk irregularly. I'll stick with natural fibers and we'll made blends. Thanks for your hard work and honesty.
Hi Crystal. When you showed it up close, I thought it was a 5 and surprise they say 4. Thanks for explaining CYC. I learn something from you all the time during my crochet journey 😊. Thanks for all you do.
I've never heard of a blown yarn. Good to know! I won't buy yarn unless it's on sale or I have a coupon. Yarn is so expensive now. I went to Goodwill the other day, and their yarn was even pricey! Thanks for the review Crystal!! 😊
Thank you so much for this review, especially the washing/drying section. I will be skipping this yarn for several reasons. I don’t like polyester yarn because I feel hot and sweaty when wearing a polyester garment. I don’t like the look of the yarn due to the blown in construction. I’m not a fan of fuzzy yarn that pills and looks old after several washings. I noticed the Landscapes Breeze yarn on their website is mostly rayon and is described as a hollow core chainette yarn. Interesting…… Thanks for all you do! 🍁🍁🍁🍁
when you said “they know more than me they’re a yarn company” 9:52 😂😂💁🏻♀️looks blown…it must be roving 😂 great review lmao you crack me up. It did shrink a bit. It’s very pretty yarn
Hola, Crystal. I love your review of yarn videos. I respect your honest opinion. Others I do not because they are affiliated with the companies. Today I learned about a new term, Blown yarn. Thank you so much for your videos.
You Crack me up. I didn't think you were going to like it at all at first! Can't we go back to the good old days when A C Moore put their yarn on sale 5 for $10? I miss that!
I've never heard of blown yarn. I do love chain spun tho. Ty for showing & testing these yarns! It is a pretty yarn. I'll have to try it...once it goes on sale! ❤️❤️❤️
Great review! I had never heard of blown yarn. When you said they know more than you cuz they’re a yarn company- I thought of what I often say to the kids - “what do I know … I’m just the mom!” Lion Brand should be listening to you 😊
Thank you 💕🙏🏼🌷Might be nice for boot cuffs. I live in the Northwoods of Wisconsin with a hat scarf set perfect for a sister gift. She is crochet worthy ❤
New to your channel and loving all of your videos. You are so much fun to watch and always so informative and very entertaining. You have a wonderful personality. And a great big heart! ❤
I didn’t think I would like it. But after you showed it on your knit machine I thought it looked beautiful. But the price is, steep for the fiber content/ yardage. Thank you.
At first glance I saw it as chain spun and then you said it was supposed to be roving so I thought I just didn’t see it right. I’m so glad you explained about blown yarn. Made me think I’m not crazy 🤣.
I think 🤔 the texture of the strand of the yarn itself is interesting. Like you said blown...I never heard that term for yarn but it was cool 😎 to see what you were talking about. I think I would lay flat to dry.
Well, you called it. You said you didn't think it would pass the washer/ dryer test. You were correct. I will still probably try it if I catch it on sale near me. Thank you.
Thank you Crystal for another top notch honest review of this yarn! Your reviews are always so very helpful. I've not tried it and have no desire to. 🤷🏼♀️ Have a beautiful day!🤗💖
I crocheted a sweater with this yarn and that exact color! I personally loved working with it. It’s definitely between and 4 and 5. The gradient wasn’t terrible or the greatest but I still enjoyed the color change. Thanks for your videos Crystal! Much love ❤️
After watching your video, which I am grateful to see, I can say that I for a fact do NOT like this yarn (that is blown) through another fiber that ends up tearing up after you wash it and then pulls to loose it's shape, and splits and pills eventually. It is a NO GO for me, no matter the stitch definition, unless you may hand wash and then lay flat to dry as you mentioned. I do love LION BRAND yarns and the color you chose is beautiful. Love the colorway. thanks for sharing.
I have the color you got plus the green and the green transitions good too. I was going to make a shawl as I got 3 of both (on sale of course). I agree it is so very soft I keep having to squish it lol.
Everyone is switching to china to make their yarn from turkey, and in my opinion the quality has went down hill. Lion Brand makes some awesome yarns but they have A LOT of yarns that are overpriced and lowered quality. I love they original Lanscapes yarn but it is higher priced and half the yardage as unforgettable or prism yarns are. They just seem to drop the ball time and time again on their new yarns. I rarely even visit their site anymore. They have gotten rid of a lot of really nice yarns and not coming out with good replacements, as of late. Just my opinion. I agree with you on the weight and construction. For Sure a Bulky 5 and not what i consider roving. Thanks Crystal.
Such is the world lately. The manufacturers expect the consumer to be ignorant to the product they’re selling. That said, it’s rings true when it comes to where our food comes from (disturbingly!) and products like cars and equipment because the younger generation doesn’t understand how things work, but yarn people, cloth people, or art supply people know their stuff! (Some of us are old enough to know how things are supposed to look, feel, and work, but the powers that be tamp all that down.) Everything lately has proved to me that quality is, without question, second to economics. It’s like pride in goods is nonexistent.
Crystal , Thank you for the review . I liked the color , but the part about it being not as soft after wash and dry is what will keep me from buying and the price . Love and Hugs .
Crystal your awesome I appreciate you so much. I love that you take the time to really explain whether it be a honest yarn review so that I know what I am buying and what to expect or one of your tutorials that I can actually follow. Thank you so much you rock!!!♥️👍
