Ayeee it's a regional thing i guess, we do it here in Solomon Island as well 😀 ..only difference is we use yellow bamboos, they're thicker and is louder i guess 🤔..but hey...Happy new year to the team bro 🙏
Love the lifestyle there in your village Uraia uce, wish I could come live there. My mums village in Samoa is called Fagaloa well known for there kava, so similar to your village where everyone helps the other , when one family gets a box of food from overseas it is shared out to the whole village. I love watching your video cos it reminds me of growing up in Samoa having not much, but love, laughter, and eah other. Much love from Sydney.
@@uraiatabua my uncle was telling me a few years ago that they export kava to Fiji from their village. It's very strong and taste very nice, easy to drink not like many kava out there.

It remind me 197O TO 1972 MY BROTHER HAD A NICE ONE,,,.,,But it Not a bamboo one,,,,,,it was a reall one ,,,,it was made of reall steel and it really havey from 1970. ,,,,,,,,To 1972. This is the only xmas present that my brother ever like it …..And i like it too,,,,because i was doing it too. Bamboo Cannon; called "Faga Ofe" in Samoa ... back in the day, we used welded pipe cannons with a small fire hole, they gave quite a loud blast; fun times. Happy New Year Uraia and family there. Alofa atu
Yeah aye uce, it was bamboo we used first where they get the name faga ofe, and then we found out metal pipe made louder sound. But we used to have a little fire burning under the hole to heat the ofe or the pipe, pour gasoline and blow it then light it. The good memories with the neighbouring villages who had the loudest faga ofe.

Back when we where kids me and my cousins from Tonga would make these, out here in the States, Bay Area. Called it "Pitu".... We'd make it out of aluminum Cans and duct tape. They would hit so hard that sometimes the whole thing would bust open, the cops would come then we was out!😁👍 Good times

Yup...brings back memories. Burn my eye brows and eyelashes when the bamboo Canon exploded. Wasn't funny then. It's funny now. Looking back at it. Lots of tell tell signs that the Canon was about to explode. We just wanted to see who's Canon was making the loudest bang.

Bamboo guns are actually illegal in Fiji. They have been banned for a few years now, but village kids still use them for fun. A few kids were badly burned during this previous festive season and this is due to bamboo guns exploding on them. Please be careful kids. Adults, please protect your kids lives. Some kids did not enjoy their holidays this year after they got burnt.

So awful. Loud explosions all day. Loud explosions 3 in the morning. I wish fireworks were legal, so at least the neighborhood gets something out of it. Instead we get PTSD triggering kerosene bombs & sick elderly people not able to rest during Christmas.
