Hi Jen, May the New Year bring you and your husband good health, joy, peace and love! I had tears in my eyes when you were putting away your beautiful Christmas decor. I always get very melancholy and sad when I put my Christmas decorations away. I have always felt that way. It reminds me that a year has passed and a new one is beginning. We had Covid over the holidays. We didn't put up a tree or our usual decorations. We also did not cook a Christmas feast. We tried not to be sad and to be grateful for what we have. Both of us have health issues that we are dealing with. I believe this too will pass. I thank God everyday for the life He has given us. By the way, I don't believe in New Years resolutions! Hi Jen, firstly Happy new yr, wishing you both all the best in health & prosperity in 2024!! I dont put up xmas decor or tree etc so I didnt have to put away anything lol I cleaned the fridge freezer & the spice cupboard, binned some out of date stuff & did the normal dusting, vacuuming etc. Was a peaceful xmas day, a lovely dinner & some treats & xmas movies haha. I hope the curve balls disappear, grief can hang around a good while so take care of yourselves. You are stronger together. Have a wonderful week xx

Hello Jen, I wish You and Your husband also a healthy and peacefull year 2024. 🎉 I don't make new year's resolutions, so as You. I have my small to do lists for shorter time than a whole year and try to realise them. I think that's a better solution than a whole list of resolutions that are not fullfilled or you try to make them for 2-3 weeks and than it's over.

I also like to put away my Christmas decorations right after Christmas Day. I put them out December 1st, so think that is long enough. For New Years I bought beautiful yellow flowers for my living room, hung a couple of prints and cleaned up and also mended anything, that I needed to do, cleaned windows and floors too and fell much better having the new year start with this cleaning, but I do clean thoroughly every week, as I cannot stand any clutter. I also decluttered my cupboard and gave things to a charity that I was not going to use. So my first week of January I always feel refreshed and reset to begin a clean slate for the new year. All the best to you and your husband for 2024. Today Jan 7th was our first day of any snow where I live in Canada and I just love that. Loved your snowmen you were greeted with outside of your window, how nice. Tomorrow I shall go out walking in the snow and enjoy the beauty. I too love to cook and enjoy more home cooked meals. That chicken and rice looked fantastic.
