I was in the crowd in 1984. I am so grateful for seeing U2 live in their early years. Thanks to my very special friend Andreas, who asked me to go to this concert. Now it is the year 2020 and I am still a U2-Fan. My friend Andreas passed away a few years ago. God protect you.

The Edge is an absolute powerhouse, how he navigates btw guitar and keyboard esp at the point of the (epic) solo is mindblowing and brillant high harmony vocals as well - Wow.
Exactly forty years ago I discovered rock 'N roll through U2. It was love at first sight thanks to this song. And to this day I hear it as if it were the first time. This version is, without a doubt, the best of all.
Larry Mullen Jr "steals" the show with this song. Amazing drumming!!! Great performances from the rest of the band, too. This song is awesome! U2 rocks!!!
Julio Luke love Larry but I always thought Edge stole the show with this song! Roaring blazing reverb guitar, beautiful piano and backup vocals, hard to beat !
So if this show had taken place in 2014 the crowd would not be able to clap because filming with a cell phone is much more important than enjoying the concert. Btw Edge did a fantistico job on this performance.

Honestly, U2 was awesome here, they were awesome before this, and they were awesome for the next ....ALMOST 40 years!! There's something in every single album, sometimes, yes, the entire album; and maybe that happened more often with their earlier releases. But jeez, just Moment of Surrender alone is worth many albums to me. I just love this band...my fam and I have been to three of their concerts. I go to every tribute band even.

Ahhhhhhh Yah, Red Rocks. Back again like One Year Later & Bono still has the Mullett, so did I at that time. Under a Thunder Cloud of Rain. I bought the video tape of the famed Red Rocks show in 1983. Vintage U2 at their Best. My Wife says she thinks it's U2's Best Tune. She makes a Great Argument on that One, it's one of the Best Songs if all time🎶 🎵 💜👏🙌💙😁
This concert may be the second most energetic in rock history (behind the Beatles Shea Stadium).. I remember when I first heard these guys in college.. The sound was awesome and was part of the great New Wave movement. I was in the Ulster Boys at UMass and we played a lot of New Wave.. Great Stuff .. thank you so much for posting this.. my students wish they grew up in the 80's.. I admit the music was much better...
@vendortrash People still jump around, but it's rarely the ENTIRE crowd jumping and clapping in unison like this (unless the lights are going on during Streets), and especially not during the NYD piano and guitar solos; people do practically sleep through that today.
in this was in 1984, 26 years ago , one year later they release the superb "the unforgetable fire" 85 ,in 1987 comes out "the joshua tree" one of the best albuns of all times,.. by that time there was no doubt that we were facing the best band in the world
