+Fernando Pulido It's just the Canon 60D and 70D, it's the person using the camera that makes it look good, not the camera itself. There are better cameras out there in the same range.
the outside part was burned and there was an extra layer that was made for safety like most hotels do so it basiclly needed extra glass and bricks and some paint
Ok I'm glad everything is fine now. I heard there was one case of death. the man had heart problems or something. I salute them for getting everything in control though.
The fire department did a very good job in a very critical time close to the celebrations of the new year. As a citizen of UAE, I am very proud. What we learned from this is that we have to take the fire drills more seriously, and accident like this do happen.
I was there that day and up close. it was a heck of an experience. It felt like a super CGI 3D Hollywood movie. I was running through the crowds like an action hero.
Hard to believe it was that long ago. I remember it being so tragic when it happened. Your video especially captures the devastation of the fire while being viewed in time-lapse. We can only hope that Dubai will have learned from this ensuring that all stringent safety measures are in place for existing and future buildings. Thanks for sharing that, Kirill. Darryl
Very nice video, Burj Khalifa was lit up white so that it can help lit the whole area, help evacuation & help the firefighters see everything. What was accomplished that night was an amazing feat, we were there, after we knew no one was seriously injured, we enjoyed the new year celebration & fireworks, 25 mins, amazing
Always thought they lit up the building white so that the attention was more on the building than on the ensuing tragedy. Media blackout for the incident was evident that night.
+Pat Kittle You do realise that a) pull it doesn't mean to destroy a building with explosives - never has never will and more importantly b) what Larry actually said was "they decided to pull it" - the "they" in this context was the FDNY - are you saying the FDNY are complicit in 9/11?
Tariq A Sorry, but where exactly did I state it was the FDNY's 'idea' - I said it was their decion - so what part of 'And they made that decision' do you not understand exactly? THEY - the FDNY - So are you accusing the FDNY being complicit in 9/11 - or do you think that Larry and the FDNY were talking about the attempt to save WTC7? Which is it? But since we are on the issue - Pull it doesn't mean demolish with explosives - the following is a statement from the demo experts on Implosion World "We have never, ever heard the term “pu ll it” being used to refer to the explosive demolition of a building, and neither has any blast team we’ve spoken with." And then lets add into the fact that in order to damage WTC7, it required destroying two 110 story buildings that are worth vastly more than WTC7 - and neither of those were properly insured, or for as much as they should have been. So to clarify - your claim is, that the FDNY made the decision to destroy WTC7 after speaking to the owner who used a phrase that doesn't even mean demolish and he did so in order to commit insurance fraud involving two vastly more expensive improperly insured buildings - great fucking argument!
+Samuel Iam first, 'pull' doesn't mean to destroy with explosives - blast teams have never used that phrase and never will. Second, wtc7 did not collapse into its own footprint- it did so much damage to fiterman hall that it later had to be destroyed - there is a four lane road between wtc7 and fiterman hall. Third, wtc7 did not collapse at free fall - part of its collapse was essentially in free fall which is a completely different thing and has been explained - as an aside controlled demo cannot create true free fall either. Forth, there were no audible explosions in the moments before collapse - this would have been the largest CD in history in one of the most densely populated places on the planet, yet no one reported hearing the biblical explosions that would have to had occurred - frankly only a fucking moron would believe in a silent explosive demolition- so are you a fucking moron? Actually, judging by your 'it's the joooooooos' comment, we already know the answer to that.
i still remember when this happened, feels like it was yesterday. I remember going to the airport the day after (january 1) and seeing the address still engulfed in smoke
My family were on the top floor (42nd) when they smelt the smoke. I was at the shopping mall trying to get food for the new years celebration. When I heard the hotel was on fire, all I could think was that they were dead. It was the scariest shit I ever experienced to this day. We visited the room later on to collect our belongings but everything was crisped burnt. If my family hadn't smelt the smoke, I wondered what could've happened- the smoking alarm wasn't ringing at all btw.
Everyone is fine- it's been more than 5 years. Our stuff hasn't been replaced by the insurance provided by the hotel and I don't think I'm ever going to be compensated by them. But, honestly, I'm just happy that no one got hurt. Thanks for the concern!
I wonder how guilty the person who accidentally caught fire to the curtain on the terrace feels? Knowing they caused a towering inferno over 40 stories of the building.
People are complaining why Burj Khalifa had fireworks after such a tragic fire at The Address Hotel just hundreds of metres away.... Its because over a million bystanders who came to see the fireworks would have left the site and blocked the roads for emergency services trying to access the fire and put it out. There were no fire casualties thank God. The fire was caused by non fire retardant outer panels on the cladding after Value Engineering took place - therein lies the problem. The hotel is back up and running/open again, and the millions of onlookers had their fireworks display too. Happy New Year everyone and lets stop pointing fingers.....
@@ceciliamacharia3074 when someone says "she" it doesen't mean she like a human girl it's a way to show respect to objects for example "i was broken when the titanic sank i wish she rests in peace"
Well, I didn't knew it was burning before for 5 years I'm in Abu Dhabi I went many times on Dubai but I didn't knew it..... I love because Dubai is developing on lockdown.... Many skyscrapers are coming.. I have to see Dubai. I trust myself.
I'm sure I am not the only one who thought that when the video got sped up it sounds like pop rocks candy. PS damn to get such great footage at low light levels that camera must be kickass
