I do, but in my country there are no electric skateboards. They are pretty much illegal. Also I wish everyone wouldn't stare at me angry when I'm riding.
Wow the people in your comments all have real first and last names and real profile pictures! That's got to be a first for me to see in the RU-vid comments section, has to be an achievement!
It was such a dope group ride! Thanks for coming out. The 60 FPS definitely came in handy for that wipeout. Man, oh man....you were right on top of that one...
Awwww buddy rookie mistakes... Just kidding that was some sick shots on the boards! Sending positive vibes your way. PEACE LOVE & DREAM'S!🇨🇦 💞🌐📷🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟💛🌏💜🌎💚🌍🌞☮💗☁🎬😉
Hi Sam, i live in NYC and i have an Evolve. I would like to reach the Evolve community in NYC, but i can not find any facebook page. Do you know if there is one ? thanks :)
Hell yea Sam! It was super fun riding with you and with this group in general! Glad you put that one part of me in the video haha. Maybe we'll see each other again at another group ride this summer
I am hesitating a looooot: ➡ Boosted board Stealth ➡ Enertion Raptor 2 ➡ Trampa esk8 boards ➡ Kaly.nyc ( on trampa base) ➡ Lacroix DSS60 *I am already experienced with low-end boards and I want something serious for my commutes ( 16/19miles total for the day on high speed) I. know that Kaly.nyc and Lacroix are nice to have but are they worth the +500/700$ than a Raptor 2, Evolve GTX, Boosted Stealth...? 🙏✔ VOTE in the comment and give your review if you own one of these please 💚
Oh ok, I might cop one of these then. But which one is your overall favorite: Kaly of LaCroix ( and why ) ( Raptor 2 seemed the best one in term of price for performance. ) Thx!
It really depends on the intent of my ride, if I’m cruising non-chalant, then the LaCroix, but if I’m going balls to the wall all out, then the Kaly. It’s like comparing a specked out sports car to your high end weekend luxury ride. They both have their place.
So, from your joint to B&H, then down near to Canal St, then back up to Chelsea Piers, then down to Battery Park, then to Brookfield -- did the Boosted extended battery drain by then? That's a lot of riding!
Hey Sam! Jay from Australia. Been riding and reviewing boards for ages!! Would love to come to NYC and cruise/film with you. Could possibly bring a raptor 2. Let me know if keen!!
It's more of a surprise to me and luck on your side that you guys don't crash way more often... You follow no rules amongst each other, you don't follow any road rules, you do what you want and you will be having crashes way more often than needed... Let's just hope no one dies. Just stating facts... Awesome video :)
Dear fellow eboarders, I am in a dilemma! I'm a 55 yr old fart who was riding my Paul Costantino Dogtown board back in '78, still got it, but there was a long hiatus that I took from boarding. Then these eboards started showing up and i was like, " Shit. We'd have killed for one of those back in the day! " I kept a subconscious eye on them over the years and always thought they looked like so much fun. Well im in decent shape, found a regular cheap board and refreshed myself then saw a Riptide eboard on sale on FB, $150.00, retailwd for $600.00, I could resist no longer. Its a short board with a kicktail like i used to ride, only goes 15-17mph but a couple of practice runs, a good ass-busting that i asked for, ah good old road rash! 😜👍... and that was it, totally hooked. I never was one for tricks, I just like to ride fast and carve away, and the fact that these things have enough torque to speed up a hill still blows my mind - no pushing, God DOES like skateboards!!! Anyway my problem - it was used mind you, so it only came with 1 controller that is on its last legs, doesn't want to charge more than 10 seconds at a time! 😡😬 I bought another control but not a Riptide, wouldn't work. HEEELLPPP!!! I love my little Riptide board, its not terribly fast but it's so much fun and it broke my eboard cherry so I'm determined to find another that works! Anyone know of any available Riptide controllers?!? ( I finally caved and ponied up the small fortune to buy a real off-road board, a Meepo Hurricane, my dick gets hard every time i think about it but 2-3 month delivery, aaarrgh! 😟 ..but i still want to ride my little Riptide, I need more practice before i climb on that Meepo beast!!! Take care all, let me know if you can steer me in the right direction, have a safe and warm holiday season and ride safe!
You should use a lower apperature, i have the 80d and use the 50mm 1.4 lens and the footage is cripsy af, your footage for some reason is looking more gopro 1080p ish and not as sharp as it could be
I started filming with E-board and Gimbal back in 2014. Looks like it's all over now. People looked at me like Crazy back then. Electric skateboard?? huh??? What is that? how come the camera stays straight???
Hi, Sam. This is Rea from Shenzhen Dongboshi technology co.,ltd which is specialized in electric skateboard. We are working with on our new brand and we would like find some youtubers for testing our boards. So do you have interest?
You know this looks really fun and I would love to participate in a group ride like this. However being in Atlanta and having this many people in a ride, I can assure you that a law would be made within a month and outright ban this . The cops would have a field day writing tickets and arresting riders. Do you not see this coming in NYC? Its only a matter of time before someone gets seriously hurt or killed as drivers and pedestrians complain. This is getting more popular everyday and I’m into it as well. It’s just how much larger the groups are going to get and how much longer we are going to be able to do this.
Evolve all the way man Was gonna buy a boosted when visiting NY Turns out u can't bring it on an international flight Turned out I got an evolve GTX from the Goldie Haven't had a boosted board obviously but my evolve is so damn fun I'tll do for years couldn't get any better
I am shocked that, in a country that is obsessed with frivolous lawsuits and virtually everyone has "their lawyer", this is even remotely possible. A group like this is an organized event and I am surprised they did not need a permit, especially since the drivers cannot properly react to this. This is not a sole-riding Casey.
I normally don’t laugh at people falling. It’s just nothing never been my thing .but at 9:00 dude in the sky blue just could not get his feet straight….. hence they turned into duck petals
Please please please! Plug in the 2100w motors into the mini s and tell us if the turn on. Only gripe with the mini x I ordered is the lack of torque that the longboards have.
@60fps you should have your shutter double so 1/120 to match motion blur. Also, when concerting to lower framerate, it's best to go from 60fps to 30fps so you get an even ratio of 2:1 and not 1:2.5 which would create a repeat frame every 2-3 frames (varying). Also, those windjammers did a great job! Mic sounds clean. I may ditch my rode mic with deadcat so I can vlog more low profile. Thanks for sharing! PS my Evolve can smoke your boosted board! :P 107mm wheels with 32T motor head FTW! top speed 29mph
Can someone tell me if these are even an option for someone 250lbs? I mean are they still a good ride? Obviously i'm tryin to drop a few but I just need an honest opinion.
Sam, that fall that the two took, what role do you think the helmet of the guy weraring the full helmet played in the roll of the fall? Seems to me that those full face helmets restrict vision and noise. Thoughts?
Charlie Basnett that's a TSG Pass. I heard they are really good and that big ass visor still gives plenty of vision. Don't know about the noise cancelling tho.
Thanks for the info on the video specs. I do question your shutter speed at 1/60. I get why you would want to shoot at 60 FPS and work within a 24 FPS timeline to get nice slow motion. But for shutter speeds don’t you typically want them to be double your frame rate? In this case would it be double the frame rate of the timeline (so with Canon that’s 1/50) or would you should double the frame rate of what you’re actually shooting - so 120? Anyone have an idea?
I should move to NY and create a guided city tour where everyone gets to ride a boosted board....would be way more fun than sitting in those big red buses!
AWESOME video Sam. Love how much you seem to care about this community, checking in to make sure people are good after a crash. As for the Ronin-S might have to hit the gym to skate with that all day!
Sam! The whistle on the helmet! So good! I have been trying to think of a sound option for staying visible on the road! Cant wait to hit NYC on the eboard! #bucketlist
He was like I have 40 blocks to go.....and I was like WOT....this thing can go 40 blocks on a single charge ...... after all that and half way through the ride he says....he has a substantial amount of battery left.....this thing is amazing
