To get him to say Ma, start with humming. I used to hum [and sing] to all the babies in our family. They try to hum back. Once he starts humming they do the mwah kiss sound. I promise the little munchkins are natural mimics. Before you know it they are saying mmmummm, mum mum mum then it morphs into ma ma ma. Congrats and blessings!

occupational therapist here! Adrienne you and I met at cafe new breed in NJ in 2021. Dada is absolutely an easier word to say! this is completely typical across all baby first words. Mama or mommy is very hard to say. When they babble they get the "d" sound before "m" .
