I don't agree that picking OL Fashanu is like eating your vegetables, (which are primarily carbs and fiber ) though I understand your intended comparison.. Fashanu is more like a RibEye, real human food, sustainable and critical protein for long term longevity and muscular health. Missing out on the amazing Odunze who we all loved, will prove to be a blessing. an awesome choice and an incredible young man
Excited for the season and love the picks. Any thing on the UDFA signings? Saw they signed Florida A&M (WR) Marcus Riley for a 3 year $2,835,000 UDFA Rookie deal with the New York Jets. That's a lot for an UDFA are they high on him?
I wanted to moved down and grab Thomas jr but I can’t be mad at Olu. My only issue w draft was that 2nd Rb taken, not a big fan of his game and I think we should have took a swing on another WR or OG. Other than that Olu, Corley, Allen, Travis was great value.
I wanted WR at 10, but I love the Olu pick as the board fell. Personally, I wouldn’t move him at all. Strictly LT. Smith absolutely will miss games. Prepare him to be the best LT he can be. He should be there for 10+ years. Live with Warren and Schweitzer as backup RT and IOL respectively. I like Corley as a player, but I really wanted someone who could backup Garrett or Mike Will in case of injury. A good or developing route runner who can separate. I don’t expect those qualities from Corley in the first year at minimum, and likely not before year 3. I view him more as a utility piece than a pure WR, and considering there were other WRs on the board, not just there, but in the following rounds, I was disappointed. That’s compounded by taking 2 RBs and a QB who I don’t think will ever have enough arm to succeed in the AFC East in the cold and windy months. The RB thing is getting old. Rolling the dice on one is tolerable, but when they move off guys like MC and Bam, who are perfectly serviceable backups, now they’re just being wasteful with the picks, and pretending those late rounders aren’t valuable is flat out wrong. Lastly, I can’t definitively say they left the draft as a better team considering losing JFM. If they had drafted a day one contributor I’d feel differently, but I don’t see one amongst the group. Aside from round 1, I didn’t like the process, and I can’t give it better than a C- right now. Edit: the bare minimum expectation for the GM and HC should be a playoff win and then if it’s a loss in the divisional round, it better be a damn competitive loss.
It’s a C & D because who is starting? This draft class is basically a developmental class meaning no one is starting which is annoying why they didn’t just trade up. Should’ve just gave Titans what they wanted
