I’d gladly take 6-4. My worry is that Arizona and San Diego are playing well. I think Atlanta will still make it . San Diego has an easier schedule. I think the two teams we will have to beat out are Arizona and St Louis.
Two METS regular seasons are left over the course of the remaining 54 Games Sent more detailed analysis to TheRicoB email Basically, the next 16 are vs weak non-contenders (except STL which is a one-game make-up) The 38 after that are vs. Division Leaders/WC Contenders with the exception of CHW and WAS out of it & CIN and TOR still technically "in it" but under - .500 - leaving 26 very tough contending opponents - 7 vs PHI and 3 vs. ATL in Division among those remaining games. To comfortably reach NL Wild Card by securing 88 Wins, METS need to overwhelm the next 16 and go .500 versus the tougher schedule. Something like 12 - 4 and then 19 - 19 gets 88 Wins and gets METS 1st or 2nd NL Wild Card
Why are we still talking about Brett Baty? What value does a prospect that hasn’t hit in MLB & experimenting with a new position give to a team trying to win games?
Mets are 8-6 in last 14 games, including being shut out 3 times. Alvarez and Nimmo are lost at the plate since early July. Both need to be put on the IL or lose their starting jobs. Nimmo last 7 games .125 AVG, last 15 games .121 AVG, July .188 AVG, post AS .111 AVG Alvarez last 7 games .083 AVG, last 15 games .189 AVG, July .200 AVG, post AS .097 AVG
People...let's not lose perspective...METS are 35 - 18 since the low on May 29th, METS are 8 - 5 since AS Break ...Best teams in MLB lose 1/3, or more, of their games...METS go 31 - 23 for 88 WIns & 1st or 2nd NL WC
Evan is understandably skeptical in order to guard against some kind of catastrophic disappointment, like getting to the end and just missing NL Playoffs. A form of psychological barrier to protect anyone's exposed emotional fandome
@@FittedInThe798 I think they can beat anybody...Full disclosure, I am a Red Sox fan since 1967 hoping for 1986 WS rematch with the METS to finally vanquish Mookie's chopper in Game 6 and let poor Bill Buckner finally RIP
@@FittedInThe798 I didn't watch Game 7 because I knew we would lose...and we DID...Had to wait for the infamous 0 - 3 comeback vs Yankees to take ALCS and then sweep STL in WS - which made up for 1967 when Bob Gibson HOFer had the greatest WS performance in MLB history - He was 3 - 0, 27 innings pitched (no relievers - three complete games) 14 Hits, 3 Total Runs Allowed, 5 BB, 26 Ks - AMAZING & WS MVP of course
Hiccup games turn off the TV batting practice at city field mets bats day off today late night baseball mets bats better wake up no sleep in time let's go mets
