New York and New Jersey are two separate places.

As a New Yorker I will be attending our sister New Jersey’s final game.

For all the ppl who dont rlly know much about the venue and the teams who play there, let me explain the “new york, new jersey” thing. So basically, the specific stadium (metlife) is host to the NY Giants and NY Jets. Both american football teams who have new york in their name. Due to there being not enough room in new york for a stadium of that size, they placed it in new jersey due to there being more space for the stadium. Hope this helps.

I am so excited for 2026 World Cup.. its gonna be the first world Cup where 48 teams will play ..not only that .. this world cup is in Americas.... MetLife will finally see a what a winning team looks like. For those of you confused, the NY Jets and NY Giants (hand egg teams), play their home games at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

Yes, New York and New Jersey are 2 different places in east coast. So the final will take place at the MetLife Stadium. Just for commercial purposes the location will be recognized as "New York-New Jersey"

Come on everyone, it is the same NY/NJ naming used during the 94 world cup when the stadium was rightfully called the "Giants Stadium" (I know it's a new stadium built next to the old one but sill you got me, go Big Blue!!)

only ppl who know nothing of NYC are confused about the New Jersey name. NY/NJ have always shared the stadium. It is the main NYC's stadium located near the city, legally in NJ territory. NY and NJ are brother states that share a lot.

As a native NJer, it’s always disheartening to see how New York’s branding is so dominant that it just swallows everything of value from NJ. We give NY our land, laborers, industry, artists, scientists, laborers, athletes, doctors, etc. and in return we are called “The Armpit of America”. Obviously w/o NYC’s money, Metlife would not have been selected, but I just wish they could call it New Jersey/New York (vs NY/NJ) for once and get a positive international branding opportunity for New Jersey for once.
