In what many believe to be the true final of the tournament, New York PoNY faces off against #1 seed DC Truck Stop in the semifinals of the 2022 USAU National Championships.
Coming off a recent world championship in the 2022 World Ultimate Club Championships, PoNY aspires to add the USAU National Championship to its already highly decorated 2022 belt. However, Truck Stop has seemingly taken over as the most dominant club team in the scene, leading to their #1 seeding of the tournament.
After suffering a breath-taking loss in one of their most key-players in Grant Lindsley early in the game, PoNY faces their most difficult mental and emotional challenge yet in a match against the clear favorites of DC Truck Stop.

2:30, Rowan inside break throw turn 2:40, Crouching Rowan hidden poaching 2:49, MKB deep cut 3:03, Basic out-under cut with a fake and a continuation of the same cut 3:14, the continuation of above two cuts doesn't work on the under, but Jurek gets an inside shot on the slash/clear because of a poaching defender 3:35, breakside BOS continuation cut happens as soon as disc is _thrown_ (rather than caught). 3:41, Jurek continuation a belly cut? 3:44, Malks' cut from stack to continue from Jurek. Has a nice juke fake. Nice break throw. Did MKB do anything wrong? Footwork? It's a breakside cut so does it even matter? 4:10, Breakside movement! 4:18, cutter shut down by PONY #3, who didn't bite on the fake, the jump cut Randolph move combo. He's completely synchronized. His feet hit the ground at the same time, sending him in the same direction as the cutter. 4:38, Rowan's continuation on this reset is shut down by Pony #47, who doesn't bite on the juke fake. 4:44, but the goal looks rather easy with a cut from the stack into the break side behind a flat mark. The defender on the cutter is instantly out of position because the cut is to the break side and they are positioned to cover both the open and break, but that leaves them one step behind on both. 5:08, Mickle breaks the mark 6:14, Rowan's vertical *6:17, A give-go looked off in favour of an inside break that leads to a goal. Also an example of two cutters cutting at the same time but it not being a problem. They use each other rather than cutting each other off. *7:29, Rowan deep strike off pull set to brick. Defender on the wrong side arguably, only thinking of covering the inside break throw, but then the disc goes to the open side handler reset and he's way out of position. *7:55, such an easy bh inside break... (Mark flashes into the backhand side, but as he moves back to cover the flick side, Garvey steps the other way and there's 2 yards of separation between the mark and the disc.) *!***8:39**, handler reset to backfield, break side around. *Notice the continuation cuts.* First it's the FOS, but when that's looked off, it's the BOS. It's not a give-go. The first continuation cut being on the break side allows the handler who just threw to reset back to the stack through the open side without clogging. Also note that the BOS defender is backing the cutter. That makes the under very very open. Even though he leaving something free on the open side, he's at least denying the deep strike from a very big threat (like 6'6" big). 9:18, Garvey with another bh inside break. 9:29, BOS continuation to open side (compare timing with BOS continuation to break side at 3:35) *9:58, Rowan gets his cut called off by teammate. How was that communicated? ("Mine"?) 10:26 has a good example of two things we talked about this week: knowing who's turn it is to cut (pecking order, just go, communicate?) and attacking the back of the mark then going to the open side (Boxley does this well) 11:04, TS 10 gets a little open on open side with juke fake against Pony 81. *11:21, TS 10 stays in the active space trying to get open. IMO he takes a little too much time. But maybe it was fine because he knew he'd get open again? Also seems like a tough spot to guard, as I think he was in the end zone if he went under or deep. (Compare this to D coverage by TS 21 at 7:12) 12:00, Pony Pink headband guy gets quite open on deep strike from 2nd in stack because of big poach by TS 30 12:32, Open side cut shut down initially. But he gets it as a reset. 13:05, Pony player cutting deep smokes TS 33 on this cut. Defender was beat every which way. (The cut was out, under, out.) He kept committing to each cut but that allowed the cutter to change direction and get open *13:40, Rowan's FOS cut shut down, but 52 gets wide open from FOS following Rowan's clear. Randolph turns his head the wrong way and cutter attacks opposite direction exactly as he does it. 13:43, BOS continuation open side timing. 14:27, Garvey's handler strike. 34:34, Rowan deep cut shut down (an example of attempting to change speed?) But following deep but by Jurek is "too fuckin' fast" for Jagt, lol.

Jimmy was tremendous in the backfield, had several superb long assists, made a fee points along the way, but that throw-away at 10-11 was very costly.

@1:30 - bad marking. Everyone knows Mickle is gonna shimmy fake backhand, then throw that flick. He doesn't even open his hips at all. Don't bite on that! @1:40 watch Garvey's weight transfer here; he's so heavy on that plant foot that he staggers out of it. That's where the power comes from, and the wrist can just be butter. Smooth. @2:30 count how long McDonnell holds the disc. Now count how many fakes he throws. Wonder why Davis is all over that under? 🤔 @2:52 he got it back tho. Look how aggressive Rowan is getting to the spot first, so he can box out and go up with good position 💪🏾 @3:30 compare to @2:30 - Roy mixes in so many quick fakes that by the time he releases that backhand break, his mark is completely flat-footed. @5:10 coulda been a point block... STOP BITING ON THE SHIMMY!!! HE DOESN'T EVEN SWITCH GRIPS. HIS LEFT HAND IS PLAYING THE HARMONICA.

@@doncarloancelotti2256 unsure, Jurek was a 5th(?) year in 2022, so his rookie year could have been 2018. Jagt I believe was done in 2017. Still, both insane competitors
