as a rangers fan, i have to disagree with you. the only reason that these games were so close is because of igor. like last year, igor did all he could to stop the panthers, but he got no support. lafreniere was pretty much the only skater who was consistently good across the board, trocheck was the next best, but our big guys, kreider zibanejad and panarin were pretty much nonexistent. our blue line was horrendous. schneider was our only bright spot on defense. fox was apparently dealing with an injury, but his play is way worse than being hurt. the florida forecheck got into their heads early, making them think that they had less time than they had, forcing bad turnovers and taking bad penalties. the rangers power play was trash as well. but the most damning part of all is the rangers lack of adjustment. they do nothing to combat adversity other than shake up the lines just a little bit. they played the same, and not changing to see what they could do different and how to overcome the relentless attack. it also doesnt help that the rangers were mopped in the physical play, and a lot of that can be attributed to the lack of use for matt rempe. it baffles me why laviolette had him in the lineup but played him for an average of probably less than four minutes per game, pretty much playing the rangers with 11 forwards. i think the best outcome you can hope for out of the west is edmonton, because i believe that they are a much weaker team defensively than dallas, and skinner is much less capable of stealing games for them, so if you shut down their offense like you did the rangers, youll get your first franchise cup. best of luck in the next round

Maybe, but that doesn't excuse the Rangers poor play. Zibanejad had no goals the entire series. Panerin had a garbage time goal. The entire team played soft and completely abandoned the front of the net.

He fumbled the puck quarterbacking the blue line so many times in this series. “Lost an edge” in open ice and spun around just throwing the puck over last night just made him look like he wasn’t even trying this series. He’s had disappearing acts 3 post seasons in a row. It’s a trend. Vatrano and copp aren’t sexy names but I’m mad we didn’t aggressively resign them. They had balls when we got to the playoffs that one season. We got rag dolled in the finals in 14 because we got crushed in the middle of the ice and we still haven’t learned and got big. It’s nauseating seeing it play out the same, time and time again.

Tell them to get bigger and learn how to make open ice hits like Fla.

This is not on the coach. It's on the core players abd the GM that put them together. If your stars don't show up and score there's not much you can do as a coach in the series.
