I grew up there. Lived there from 1989-2008. Roosevelt Island is forever embedded in my heart. Growing up there in the 90’s was the best. I visited recently and it hasn’t really changed much. Love that place forever!
Lived there from 2009-2013. At the time it was a great place to live and was very reasonably priced. We lived lived directly across from the parking ramp at 10 River rd. for $1900 per month in a 1 bedroom with excellent access to the grocery store and parking ramp.
Great video and great shots! I wanted to ask since I'll be there soon, is it still allowed to fly drones in Roosevelt island where u flew from? I just want to be sure since I'll be there soon and would love to as well.
Thank you! I had no issue flying my drone there but I can’t guarantee the same for you; the situation may have changed. NYC does not allow drone flights in those areas, but Roosevelt Island is technically part of New York State. Hope that helps.
@@mundanethings208 If you actually were looking to move there then there's a building on Roosevelt Island that will have affordable housing. The lottery for it is currently active and they are offering the apartments to a wide range of income levels. Here's the current affordable housing lottery list: a806-housingconnect.nyc.gov/nyclottery/lottery.html#current-projects And here's the details for the building on Roosevelt Island. The lottery for this building ends on July 6th. a806-housingconnect.nyc.gov/nyclottery/AdvertisementPdf/1037.pdf
Hello from Argentina. I’ve been to NYC several times but never even considered Roosevelt Island because it seemed empty, boring, the tramway looked tacky and I’ve never liked the design of Queensboro Bridge. But I’m happy to see the island has been redeveloped and looks so nice, I may visit next time I’m there😉
Yeah man, it’s a hidden gem that not a lot of people visit. But the views of the skyline were one of my favorite parts of visiting the island. I’d love to make my way to visit NYC again

This guy is one hell of a narcissist because he is more interested in showing us his face than he is interested in showing us the island. There is really no reason for the video to display his face, at all. His voice for narrating the landscape would suffice.
@@DiscoverWithDima I didn't watch it. Or more accurately, I stopped half-way through, after concluding the video really exists only to show closeup face pics of the narcissist photographer, and the words "Roosevelt Island" were just click bait.
