New York to deploy National Guard to subways after string of violence

New York is set to deploy the National Guard to subways after a string of violence on the transportation system. New York Gov. Kathy Hochul announced the plans Wednesday to deploy the national guardsmen to help police search passengers' bags for weapons, following a series of high-profile crimes on city trains.
Hochul, a Democrat, said she will send 750 members of the National Guard, as well as 250 state troopers, to help the New York Police Department check bags at subway entrances.

The law generally prevents the president from using the military as a domestic police force. The Posse Comitatus Act bars federal troops from participating in civilian law enforcement except when expressly authorized by law. Thats Marshall law.

@@chavvy9074Would you please consider past actions and crimes by Jordon Neely. He was prone to assaulting people and has a long history of threatening . Jordon Neely picked on the wrong person and unfortunately died as a result. (had a history of drug use which causes heart problems) The other riders of the subway praise Daniel Perry as a hero. Jordon belonged in a locked cell . I was responding to o7jayann's comment. The mentally ill, or just various criminals can not be allowed to continue to prey on people.
