I think we have to appreciate Holmes coming in with based loaded and only a one run lead and striking out two of their best hitters to save the game. That was a great display by Holmes
Great win! Sevy was terrible, but the bullpen threw it's collective balls on the table with a huge, resilient performance! The offense finally came to live! VOLPE HAD A GREAT GAME!! Sweep tomorrow with our ace Cole on the mound! Let's go Yanks! #RepBX
Bronx Bombers take game 1 of the Subway Series. Severino is still struggling which is not a good sign. It was good to see the lineup producing against Mad Max. Stanton, DJ, Rizzo hopefully will wake up after this game. BP with some clutch plays. Let's take game 2 tomorrow against Verlander. GO YANKEES!!! #CHASEFOR28
He is throwing too many balls practically right over the plate. Fastballs only work straight down the pipe on some hitters, most hitters are going to smash that pitch.
I got to say after 5- 1 I thought we were toast especially with max on the mound. What a comeback by our Yankees. We needed this big time and our bullpen besides Peralta was on lock down
Great win! Sevy was terrible, but the bullpen threw it's collective balls on the table with a huge, resilient performance! The offense finally came to live! Lets Go Yankees also this game took a year off my life #Chasefor28
@@julianlennon5312 that seems to be the new theme of the Yankees. Advertisement for Yankees: Don’t like work a real job or NOT being a millionaire? Come to NY where you get paid millions to work half the year playing a game or just ride the DL! From minor league deals to the highest paid player in the league…everyone rides the bench in NY! Sub .200 ba, not an issue in the Bronx. Play for a manager that fully understands subpar performance as a player…having never won a championship and getting only 1 hit that mattered in his own lackluster playing days.
@@Cdanto95 it would be a different sorry defensevely with dj at second and josh on third, what we dont have is a good decision making manager in boone, man gleyber be costing too many runs with his bad defense in important situations for our pitchers, and hes not all that on offense either, so take him out...
Despite having another bad start from Servino the Yankees came all the way back against the best pitcher in the league Max Schezer. The bullpen held their own. We need to give Clay Holmes credit when credit is due got out of a base loaded jam with one out striking out 2 of the Mets best hitters.
I’ve really got a feeling that Volpes about to get really hot. I mean when the owner of your team comes out and says that you will not be demoted, it takes a lot of pressure off.
Maybe the best game of the season so far -- reminds me a little of that game a few years ago in Minnesota that ended when Hicks caught a rocket to right-center. There were more lead changes, etc., but a similar vibe.
This game was nice to watch, everyone doing a little something and the bullpen shutting it down once again. He didn’t close in this one but I still think he could get back to being the closer we need
That was an awesome win today. I love how they battled through the whole game to retake the lead. I miss Judge very much, but nothing is more special to see than a team battling and fighting to grit out a win. Way to go, Yankees!
Hopefully this can get Volpe going. He needs more of the down the line doubles. If we’re lucky. He will be able to make an adjustment and keep his hits down because right now he’s either popping balls up to the outfielders or
Despite this win, Severino's continuing struggles are a cause for concern. We already have a starting pitcher who regularly coughs up 5 or 6 runs per game - don't need another one.
We beat our jealous rival, dominated in the poorly made Shea Stadium clone and even ate their apple. HAHAHAHA! Greetings from an NYY fan from Fortaleza, Brazil.
It’s a wrap for Sevy he keeps going this way. He needs to start pitching backawards. Thatbfastball crap ain’t fooling todays hitters. Especially if you have nothing else to take them off of it. He ain’t clipping corner or recognizing the umps strikes zones to take advantage of it. Now more than ever he needs to learn the cutter or a Split finger fast ball. Salute to the bull pen for coming through and the bats finding their way and laying off the homers. Scherzer is getting old fast.
If Sevy & Nester. are going to struggle the rest of the way, we have a starting pitcher problem Cole & German ( can't count on Schmidt) and an ok bullpen without a real dominant closer ? That's not gonna do it, even with a healthy lineup. 99 can do only so much, & he can't pitch. Yeah, someone needs to find thier groove in that rotation. BTW Nice win ... great job by Holmes & King.💥
Yankees are 10 games over 500 without Judge most of the time time, 39-29 record, as a Yankees fan I'll take it, and about the same record as those so called unstoppable Astros but anyways, Mets on the other hand, what a trainwreck situation that is, I sorta feel sorry for them, but i always enjoy when we beat our little brothers.
This Yankees team is so inconsistent. Today we score seven runs and then on Wednesday will probably score like one or two runs because that's how this team's been all year. The Yankees need like a cattle prong to keep them hitting like they did today (June 13th). We are eight games behind the Tampa Bay rays and can't afford to be this inconsistent all year.
Take away Sevvy and Peralta and the Yanks looked good Stanton Rizzo Volpe And even Donaldson got some offense going maybe it was Sherzer or maybe it was Citifield Rest of bullpen was clutch. Kinda ugly but it's always great to win at Citifield. LGY!!
