this doesn't make sense to me. Paxton was pitching fairly well and only threw 50 pitches, yet they took him out IN THE 3RD INNING. Then in Game 5 he had this situation come up and let him go 6 innings and they won. Why take him out? it makes NO SENSE. Especially up in the series 1-0. I, if I were the GM, and if I were the pitcher I'd be pissed. It's like he got treated as a reliever except he isn't. To me as a pitcher, it pisses me off even more because, why even start me, you could've saved me for game 3 if you pull me after 50 pitches. If I am going to get pulled in the blink of an eye when just baserunners are on base. And as a GM, why did I trade for a guy if you're only going to throw him 3 innings. It shows you have no faith in a pitcher and it ruins their confidence. Look at game 5, they gave him a LONG leash, it showed him that they Trust him and would you look at that? THEY WON. then as a fan, some of the shit you see in baseball nowadays is ruining the game. It hurts you more than it helps you to pull a starter that early because bullpens are notoriously bad. When they haven't given up a run in an inning and you pull them that early you hurt yourself because you use your bullpen all up and then your DEPLETED the next game.
No Paxton was most likely about to get hammered in the 3rd. The real mistake was putting in ottavino who had been shaky all of September and in the alds for chad green
@@BrotherJoe96 not the reason we lost though. We lost because dumbass Aaron Boone put Adam ottavino in. Move baffles me to this day. I don’t think I’ll ever get over that
