Me and my mate are most weeks up here in Aberdeenshire Scotland whatever the weather. Specialized Turbo Levo Comp & Cube Stereo Hybrid 160. Been riding enduro trails with a few early mornings with lights!

I am over Derailleurs. I'm buying a Nicolai Eboxx GT1 MR14 manual change Rohloff hub with belt drive and tucked in front tensioner .10 Derailleurs destroyed by sticks dragging the derailleur into spokes . In Australia it is a very very common problem because of all the tough eucalyptus sticks. Bosch motor 750wh battery is the best most Reliable system currently. Big raked out long frame for climbing and stability descending is the ho for me.All the motor /gearboxes are unrefined and clunky and have no weight advantage over proven Rohloff hubs .On Emtbs weight is a benefit if you are a lightweight person. I’m over derailleurs too, I think gearboxes and hubs are the better option. While I agree that the Rohloff has immaculate durability credentials, the one advantage that I think gearbox systems like the Pinion MGU will have over hub systems is the unsprung weight. If you’re doing rougher terrain, having your suspension more responsive is an advantage, but for most common usage, hubs are great.

YT looks pretty good with a 720 watt battery, just checked the site and they’re offering the bikes at a reduced price of 6399 Euro rather than 7999 Euro full price, looks like the Covid price gouging has ended. On the weight of e-bikes I noticed that the Levo Comp mk3 seems to be about a kilo heavier than the mk2 and I suspect the advent of the SL bikes is leading to manufacturers allowing the weight to creep up.

Mine is Alloy gen 2 size large and set up tubeless with Maxis tyres and a 700 watt battery is just over 22kg mine has 35mm forks with the special damper cartridge (very good) to give 160mm travel at the front. My mate has just got the new Levo Comp Alloy which is noticeably heavier despite smaller rear wheel, but has 36mm forks and he’s not taken the inner tubes out yet. No big deal, but I suspect it’s down to the burly less elegant frame. we’re both running the same pedals..@@lozetchells9164

I love the fact that we are seeing motorbike brands starting to push the development of the EMTBs but the majority of the brands we currently see are all under the KTM umbrella. Will 2024 be the year we see proper ebikes from the big four Japanese motorbike brands?

I’ve said it before that Martyn is not a true Ebike enthusiast. He is user, but would not be if circumstances were different. I still luv the guy, he’s a inspiration and he’s funny as hell. I think Martyn’s trike needs more power. MUCH more power. He’s not using his legs, so using a motor that is designed for leg use is not the right approach. I would have him on a Bafang M620 UART motor that’s been “hacked”. 48v 2000kw. I believe this is the best way to keep his fatigue down and pleasure level higher. There is a German company that sells the modified bafang. He’s got the right bike, now he needs the right power level so he can actually enjoy a whole day of riding. Always a good show, the whole crew does a great job.

Most of us YT Decoy/Decoy 29 owners have been waiting for the new 720w battery to replace the 540w one for ages now, and I suspect I'm at the far end of a very long waiting list. Now they've brought out these new models I feel we will never get them. Bad one YT

Still looking for an e-bike with the new automatic shifting. I like yet decoy 5 and gas gas mxc5 what’s your take on that. Help, also I was looking at Polygon COLLOSUS N8XE which comes fully loaded and autoshift and at $5999 US DLL.

Come on guys, you still using derailleurs, do yourself a favour and put a Shimmy 11 speed on the back with a belt trans to a bb mounted motor. Its almost 2024, transmission chains were dumped on cars 100 years ago! they are messy, inefficient and break often, just watch the chain on the video. Its almost baulking, hop a cog now if you dare, its going to be a pain in pocket .
