That spread looked absolutely beautiful and that tea sounded divine. Plus they used excellent jam for the scone. My childhood best friend is a kiwi and was born in the same town as Keith Urban.

I love how you added the chocolate shavings to the scone. I would have enjoyed that with the orange marmalade! Very interesting, modern architecture of the hotel.

I’m not sure if I was supposed to eat it or just for decoration but it really tasted nice. My scone felt naked without clotted cream too.

I really missed the clotted cream as I love the taste of it with the jams. The desserts were really nice though. The macaron and the chocolate slice were my fave ones of the afternoon tea.

Thanks Jess. It was lovely to sit by the harbour and so relaxing. I’m still thinking about that delicious onion focaccia bread and wish they sold it separately too so I could buy it. I think it’s the best bread style I’ve had in all of my afternoon teas. I liked how they had different types of bread like in my Ritz London vlog as it gives the afternoon tea a different take to the sandwiches. 😋

Some hotels don’t quite execute the experience but this one exceeded expectations! The bread looked so delicious. If I ever visit NZ, I’ll have to check it out for sure. Lovely afternoon tea. It’s very noticeable being offered butter instead of clotted cream. Even whipped double cream would have worked. Two preserves/ jam and only one scone is a bit unbalanced. I know towards the end it might have been difficult to eat two scones, but still, I like to see two scones! I wonder if you could have taken away anything you couldn’t finish and if they offered refills?

Yes I totally know what you mean about the 2 scones. I really did miss the clotted cream aspect too…the scone felt a bit naked without it. I was able to take away any items I didn’t finish so that wasn’t a problem. 🤗

I am glad that the afternoon tea turned out to be so nice. I thought that the light green "egg" was some kind of huge avocado! 😁😁I was not very impressed with the sandwiches (I do not like fancy presentations like silly petals and so on) No clotted cream? 😲😲 Call the police! 😁. The building is ugly and looks like an office block or a factory, that is modern architecture for you! 🤢🤢Wishing you all the best on your New Zealand holiday! Cheers! 😍😍

I really liked the variety of breads they used as it made a refreshing change from the same bread for all the sandwiches I often see in afternoon teas. I did really miss having clotted cream though as I absolutely love clotted cream 😋 the area of the hotel the afternoon tea is placed faces the apartments and moorings but the other side of the hotel has views overlooking the harbour and all the boats and yachts. I’ll add some photos to my community page. I liked seeing water around the hotel and in the centre of the hotel as I found it really relaxing and peaceful. I wish they sold the focaccia bread as I’d go back and buy it as it tasted so good with the orange mustard mayo 😋 Thanks for the support! 🤗

@@arslongavitabrevis5136 not everyone likes clotted cream but it’s a lovely sweet treat and goes so well with scones. When I used to make rice pudding I would also add clotted cream to it as it goes really well.
