Well-presented video Stan and thank you for sharing your adventure with us. I'm a South Islander and will probably not get to hunt up your way (I'm 70)! So, I enjoy watching hunters like yourself enjoying this beautiful country we call home.
@@hardantlerhunting9691 Another great video from this channel and thank you for sharing your adventure. As a 70-year-old and one who has been shooting since a kid. I only came to centrefire hunting in the last five years as most of my hunting was with muzzle loading shotguns, but twenty years ago, I bought my first ML rifle and once I could hit what I was aiming at, I started hunting. Check out ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE--JaVfMHt33U.html Now looking to see/shoot my first Tahr and Chamois, as a retiree, no helicopters for me, I try to drive in as far as I can, then take these old legs as far as they will go. Planning a trip into central Canterbury once the kids are back in school and a get a weather break for a couple of days. I have my private land permission and the DOC block looks promising. Looking forward to more of your Sth Island adventures.
great video bud ,love that end of the Haurangis, used to hunt it heaps in my younger years always by motor bike up around that Mt Ross area, cheers from perth
I hunted that exact area in July. Struggled finding water on the tops but saw a couple of deer and 3 pigs across 5 days. Nothing in a shooting position unfortunately. Was a good trip nonetheless.
@Link-xw3wk good spotting man. The ridgeline 45L pack has a major weakness and that's packing top heavy rifles, the rifle comes loose. I have a custom pack being made by Luke at Southern Ultralight Packs to accommodate my folder and still has the barrel up. Never ending right...perfecting gear
