YIPPEE!!!!!! I am so happy that my home State of Georgia, USA is being represented in this video!!! I was not only in attendance for the 1996 Olympics here in Atlanta, GA,; but worked at the venue where ALL the swimming, diving and synchronized water events took place. It was fun meeting all the athletes from around the world. I was surprised too see that our governor Mr. Kemp sent y'all something too. Honestly, it's nice to see politicians & political figures on both sides of the political spectrum here in the US, actually agree on one thing. Among all things, it's a RU-vid channel about a New Zealand family just being really heartwarming. Seriously, this is just an overall very special video. It's a massive honor to possess a flag that was flown in our Capital. There are only a very few select ways that American citizens can accomplish this. United States Congressmen and Senators can make it happen faster but honestly I've never heard of an American flag being flown in our Capital for the purpose of being sent to folks like y'all so fast!! I am glad someone sent you the book "American Tall Tales" as it is folklore based off real people that formed our country. Daniel Boone lead a group through the "Smokey" Appalacian Mountains. In that group was my my GGG Grandfather and Grandmother. She was also the sister to John G Chapman, otherwise known as Johnny Appleseed. Later some of their children followed Boone on to Texas.

I love Atlanta's smile, and love how you all love each other so much. I am a 57 year old veteran of Desert Storm and I love how you respect and love the history of the U.S. God Bless you all.

I'm from Rhode Island and we used to find arrow heads often. The state has towns named Pawtucket, Narragansett, and Misquamicut -- all native names. I believe my great, great grandmother was full blood Algonquin, so my family loved our native past. It was so nice seeing the Oklahoman flag honor their native heritage. ♥️

Oorrah, Marines! That's me. Semper Fidelis is latin for "Always faithful", we usually greet each other with a shortened version, "Semper Fi". The eagle represents national service and our commitment to defend the Constitution of the United States. The globe represents worldwide service and depicts the Western hemisphere for our birthplace as well as our initial engagement in military activities, starting with the War of Independence, when the Marine Corps was formed in Tunn Tavern, Pennsylvania on November 10th 1775. The fouled anchor represents our Naval traditions and close brotherhood with the Navy, and there is no "bitter end" to the rope, if you follow it around you will notice that it is continuous. Therefore, there is no end for the Marine Corps. The flag, as well as anything we paint other than green or camouflage, uses the Marine Corps colors which are scarlet and gold. I know, what you will see is the colors red and yellow, but we're Marines, we're flashy that way. The Eagle, Globe, and Anchor officially are only authorized for wear by Marines, but a lot of people wear it in various ways to show pride and support for us. But you will hear about Marines tearing up some poor guy for wearing our cammies or boots, which have EGAs in the pattern or embossed into the leather. It depends. And no, we do not eat crayons. We get most of our wax daily intake from picking our ears and from the bullet-proof MRE chocolate bars which have wax to keep them from melting easily. Besides, there's no protein, carbs, fats, or alcohol in crayons anyway, so that would be useless. Marines: when it absolutely, positively must be destroyed overnight. And like you, they also get flooded with parcels from the U.S! Just today I came across a young UK reactor who had her walls covered in U.S. stuff to celebrate with us the Fourth of July. All the things had been sent to her from the States.There is so much negativity in the world towards Americans, so we very much appreciate those with good will and.interest in us.

It’s also a reminder of who came before us and how their actions and sacrifices are why the word “Marine” even means anything. I have many friends who are former soldiers and sailors. They are proud of their service and should be.

I live about 24 miles of Atlanta and was born in Savannah home of the Girl Scouts. Dahlonega home of the first gold rush in the USA is a neat place to visit. You can see gold specks even in the bricks of the older buildings. The domed roof of the capitol building in Atlanta is covered with a gold sheeting from Dahlonega.
