Again, welcome to NZ, I hope you enjoyed your stay. That's a lovely piece of hunting country, I've never hunted the North Island! Was it private land or Public DOC land please? I'm not an advocate of bow hunting, mainly because more usually the arrow is not that well placed and that means a less of a quick and a humain kill! Your Buck looked liked it was gut shot. I did exactly the same thing when I used to hunt with black powder muzzle loading rifles. But thank you for sharing though, happy hunting.
