This videos is available on a DVD and has been produced as a teaching resource to enable all New Zealanders to learn, access and enjoy our national anthem in New Zealand's three official languages.
This version is the result of collaboration with native speakers of NZSL,
Maori & English, New Zealand-wide, and sign language linguists from the
Deaf community, with the purpose to create a NZSL translation that was
true to the meaning behind the Maori & English lyrics.

Where i am from we use some nzsl and asl together to form my own sign languae all though this is awsome this reflects deaf culture and how we can be united in helping the deaf world learn form many countires and lands and to unite as one deaf world. as a coda i am proud to say how much this hekps those who serve the deaf and i appreciate this because my dad is from new zeland and my mom is from america so i appricate this

I can almost do all the SL fluently. I still end up messing up on a few parts but it's fairly good for only practicing about nine to ten times. I hope with a bit more practice I can do it in time perfectly with the video without messing it up. Sometime in the future I would like to be able to do it in the future without the video and be able to do it myself. I know that's only gonna happen if I keep practicing it a lot which I plan on doing. :)

My school always does the sign language school anthem and when we got a girl in our school who was deaf, we put her at the front of the hall and we all signed it to her, she started crying and it was so meaningful 😊😊✨

We used to use this video at school assembly in primary school but it was so annoying because the lyrics always appeared on screen after they had already been sung. Luckily I know all the lyrics but it still messed me up. Nevermind the 5 year olds who haven’t memorised the lyrics yet and that cursive font doesn’t help either.

We use Makaton with one son, the other son came home from preschool singing the national anthem in Maori. I did a search...and wow! We have a sign version as well. Thank you so much. I'm going to take a copy to the preschool :)
