I thoroughly enjoyed your collection of images. Thank you. Just a couple of notes: The Māori King's whare (residence) photo reference needs correction. If it is 1864, the King was Tāwhiao. But if it was king Mahuta, it should be dated 1894 or later. I think it more likely that there would have been armed and uniformed imperial or colonial troops there in 1864 - immediately after the invasion of the Waikato and the occupation of Ngāruawāhia. Also, I note that all three portraits of Māori women show almost identical moko kauae (chin tattoo). I think this is most unlikely. Historically and currently each moko has its own individual design. It was almost impossible for the glass plate negative photographic process to adequately record moko. So, photographers often added moko to the negatives. But I don't think this would explain the identical designs in these images unless all three were taken by the same photographer. Were the moko added during recent the colourisation?

I watched many of these pictures turn on different channels and this is a lovely one but the music is always seems to be out of character for the pictures on all the different shows I've seen I don't like the music
