Shame about that last season, but that show deserves so much credit for making a detective-plus-zombie show that was actually generally amazing, even at the height of zombie and detective shows being overdone.
We're so proud of our Rose! Super excited about Ghosts. I can still hear her Kiwi accent when she speaks naturally. Thanks for having her on Steve. Love from New Zealand
I'm Cuban-American and I looove anything New Zealand, your land and views are to die for, your culture so rich and your artists of all kind are brilliant! Hope I get to visit one day, on my bucket list!.. you're very blessed to have been born in such a wonderful place.. Hoorah to New Zealand and the beautiful Kiwi birds 🐦 😍 ❤️ 🙌
One of my favorite scenes in iZombie is when she pretends to be a stranded New Zealand girl. Because there we had a Kiwi playing an American pretending to be a Kiwi faking a bad American accent.
Rose is a tremendous actress. Her many characters in iZombie was impressive. Ghosts is another impressive role, by an impressive actress. A fan for sure!!!
You should. Really beautiful place. My wife's from Auckland (but she spent most of her adult life abroad) and more often than not, I'm way more excited than she is to go to New Zealand 😁
really? I didn't think she was nervous - maybe just kiwi mannerisms? (no idea she was also a kiwi till now) - been meaning to watch iZombie for a while - will absolutely move it up the list now.
Brilliant. She makes everything she's associated with so much fun to watch. iZombie was awesome, she killed it with a great ensemble cast. Ghosts is brilliant, as well.
@@krylesangerbeaver That was the last guy. Today he is saying similar things about his wife. Real Americans love our brothers (and sisters) to the North.
She must have left NZ a long time ago if she refers to Titirangi as a “small beach town”. It’s a large neighbourhood in West Auckland. Very artsy part of town and really pretty! Lucky to have grown there.
She did but she goes back almost every year. It was like that when she grew up there I assume, and it’s still “small” compared what most people would consider a big town or city.
Titirangi is close to the beach where most of Xena was shot. I like that Rose pronounces it correctly (as Maori). When I grew up, we Europeans bastardised all the pronunciations of Maori place names and words. (There had been a colonial effort to destroy Maori culture. Children were beaten for speaking Maori at school.)
Wow‼️. I never knew Rose 🌹 McIver was on Hercules and Zena -- and I watched both shows all the time‼️. I'm going to have to check it out on Demand. Love Ghosts 👻‼️
Just to add to this woman’s interesting tapestry of life, which includes cross-stitching family homes with spectacular views, here is the complete section under ‘Personal Life’ in Wikipedia: “McIver enjoys writing, and is inspired by the works of John Steinbeck, Wally Lamb and Franz Kafka. She also enjoys crossword puzzles and Sudoku.”
I crushed really hard on her as Tinkerbell in Once Upon a Time. I even hid her name in a digital painting I was doing at the time. I'm not into zombies but her Ghosts show is hilarious. One of my favorite shows right now.
Even if you aren’t into zombies at all, iZombie is really not a “Zombie” show, its a drama/comedy procedural. Not about raving mindless zombies at the end of the world.
It took me a few tries before I could finish the first episode of Ghosts. Deaths near me were frequent right before then and like Rose's father, I'm a sceptic. I did not wish to suspend my disbelief after such recent losses. Besides, by age 10-11, I could train my dogs to do any trick the other kids could think of. I am not fooled by my own tricks, or theirs. Then after watching the first episode, I binged on the rest of the first season and was right there for the second. You do not need to believe to laugh. Great ensemble cast. The Kiwi spy may proceed.
kia ora Rose - ka pai - really well done. I had no idea you were a fellow kiwi - wow. I'm actually watching Ghosts right now (USA version, after watching all UK version) - was thinking yesterday, if I had to pick, which one would I recommend - can't, nope love them both. oh iZombie been on my to-watch list for ages (I do have an actual list lol). anyway - well done, both on great interview & career so far. arohanui.
i just found iZombie 2 days ago , i am binge watching the hell outta it on Netflix. I had to see the real 'liv-ing' zombie chic. lol she's great actress and very beautiful .
I have seen all of those films and had no idea she is a Kiwi. Wow. Great job on the accent. Crazy how I didn't pick that up. Love the movies and have only seen the first episode of ghosts. I will have to try and watch more so I can see that crossover episode.
Much of Kiwi and Aussie TV is/shows either American or English and we grow up with both as constants! My kids even used to play in the appropriate accents! So for Down Under actors it's really nothing. When I saw True Blood of course I knew anna Paquin was a Kiwi (hell she won an Oscar doing an accent as a kid), but Hadn't seen Ryan Kwanten in anything and had no idea he was Aussie!
Loved her since iZombie! And the US Ghosts is so much better and funnier than the UK version. Usually I prefer the UK versions of shows but there are a couple exceptions.
I am from England but live in USA so I was soooo conflicted haha now I can no longer compare the two shows as the American one is so different and had a lot more warmth. The Uk one represents us Brit’s pretty well stiff up a lip not as warm but love the subtlety of comedy! So I have to say… I AM SO CONFLICTED!
@@JuiceMyRandomness I'm in England and knew that version first. I don't think one is better than the other but they have gone different ways since the early episodes of the US version. Which is great to see as it can stand on it's own two feet instead of being a copy. So to me don't think of them as comparisons, think of them as different.
She's such a delight...and he's not so great with new people. He giving me serious second-hand embarassment, constantly tripping over his words and unable to connect beyond small talk. He should be doing the heaving lifting, but ends up letting her down.
@@juliaconnell I remember her from Xena and Hercules, but they did make a wee fuss about it when the first Christmas Prince movie came out (funnily enough I rematch all three of them last week hahaha)! Kia ora from Timaru too! PS. Where can I find Ghosts?
@@cheekyb71 wow, you've got a good memory to remember her from Xena/Hercules days! I don't have a good mind for faces, names - yes, faces not so much I'd never heard of the Christmas Prince movie/s, sounds like a good watch for xmas day, or boxing day. I believe (yip, just checked) it's on TVNZ On Demand site (I don't have a tv. so watch all my content online) (there was a UK version first = many of the characters are based on the UK series, but some new characters plus mostly different plot lines)
@@Tao_Tology magenta??? nah mate - needs much more red/pink "Magenta is a color that is variously defined as pinkish-purplish-red, reddish-purplish-pink or mauvish-crimson" violet - or just simple purple 💜
