It's been too long since I got a new Zippo. In fact, this is the first one for 2016 and I got it in April -__-. But hey, better late than never, right?

The WWII GI's lighter. The historically accurate is the plain black crackle due to brass shortage at the time.

LUSCIOUS kollektibles So this one right here is the most historically accurate? Also, I noticed the insert fits differently on the ‘41 due to the shape of the case, is that a problem? Does the insert move around unwontedly? And is the insert that comes with the replica also historically accurate or is it just the same but with 2 less chimney holes?

Yes this is the one the soldiers carried. The black crackle material was added to prevent corrosion. Also prevented reflection for soldiers. The lighters today are more rough feeling than the ones back then. The material they used in the war would get hot in the sun and give it a crackle look

The 1935 Replicas black box has the slogan too but it has the "Windy" girl on the box with her skirt being blown up by the wind as she lights her cigarette with her Zippo.....bad ass. 1935 replica Is the best IMO. Got to have a black crackle too though just because the GI's are what made Zippo who they are.

I have one of the black ice 1941s. It looks like a dark gray brushed chrome. Black ice looks better on the regular models when it is all polished. Still nice on the 1941 though.

+SteffenT I have a black ice slim. Plus the nice retro looking 1941 replica with the retro zippo logo on it is also black ice. So that'll count in my book haha

Хочу иметь одну, любимую, НО купил 1941 black crackle, armor 168, replica 1935, replica 1941b. Теперь сижу и думаю, какая лучше и приятнее. Армор очень приятная, 65 граммов! Но реплика 1941 прекрасна! А 1935 тоже хочется носить. Задача, с ума сойти.

Is your hinge a bit loose on this one? because it's a 1941 rep. it does only have 4 except of 3 from the newer models. mine is quiet loose.

Mines not loose at all. But it’s common to get even regular Zippos with loose hinges. It’s just how they are unfortunately
