I just got one and it might be the ultimate bowl lighter, perfect angle and the satisfaction of slamming it closed while clearing it enhances the whole experience
That’s awesome !! I’ve only had mine a week and it’s bullet proof. Wait for my video on how I take it apart and upgrade it. I’ve already done it will be out in a couple weeks
I have to say I don’t need one of these because I don’t use butane. BUT!! You did a great job showcasing this inset I might actually buy one. Good work Sir !
I am a pipe smoker and recently got this butane insert. My biggest complain is the small butane capacity, only 0.9 gr, for me last only one day. I thought it was leaking gas and fill it and weight it over many days, no leaking. After research I found out the capacity is only 0.9 gr of gas. IM Corona Old Boy holds 3.3 grs. Bic Maxi (the bigger size holds 4.9 grs!). If zippo makes a bigger tank it would be fantastic.
Just ordered mine. Can’t wait to get it. Love Zippo’s but only use them occasionally because I hate the lighter fluid taste when lighting up my pipe. So pumped they’re making these inserts
I have been waiting for one of these since they did the normal soft flame. Can't wait! I would be interested in the Zippo insert takedown video, always love teardowns.
Just ordered mine they were out of stock for the longest time! First zippo ever also! Got a sick engraved matte black zippo and the yellow flame pipe insert can’t wait!
My yellow flame pipe insert is in the mail. I got it for camping where the piezoelectric igniters tend to die from the humidity and altitude - sometimes permanently. I don't think the crystals are very well sealed and humidity gets inside doing damage. Flint won't work when wet. but dry it out and I am in business again.
Hey Zippo Fanatic, could you maybe do a video on how to replace the battery on a Ziplight? Can't find what batteries they use anywhere, so would be very much appreciated!
Hey buds would if I could. I have no idea about any of that. A subscriber did it for me. He actually wired in a different batter my so I don’t know. I am very uneducated in electronics.
I didnt know about them until you just did this video, I been using the normal yellow flame insert you showed in the video for a long time now, I will be for sure getting this new pipe yellow flame type insert ill probably buy two they look cool and more useful. The only real problem I find with zippos yellow flame insert which they never seem to correct and its so irritating is that they never seem to fit in my zippo cases and always slide up and out, i hate having to wedge something in it to keep them down.
@@Zippofanatic77outdoors yeh I checked all markets around UK 🇬🇧 but they definitely don't have it so I'll have to try order it from USA see if they'll deliver.
I'm a pipe smoker and I've yet to find anything better than a regular fluid insert. They are so damn reliable! I ordered one of these and can't wait to try it out. Who knows maybe this will replace my fluid inserts
@@Zippofanatic77outdoors Yeah, that's the thing that's hard to beat. I've tried a host of butane lighters and they tend to suck. Even higher end ones like IM Corona Old Boy. That $20 zippo with fluid just always works.
@@fivevs1 lol 100%. But I do have to say the butane inserts do serve a purpose for me. I have a rather large collection of zippos if I can believe it lol the nice thing about the butane inserts is now I get to use more of my collection with out having to fill them all the time. The main benefit for me
appreciate this video! I love their yellow flame butane inserts even if they're made in china and have a lot of problems. i might order like 10 of these lol
Hahaha these literally have no problems. U probably get away with two for the rest of your life lol I took these apart and they are fixable forever basically. The video should be out in a couple weeks.
Just became a new fan, why did you stop uploading on the other channel? I was checking out the old channel and the last channel and thought you stopped posting.
Mine is very inconsistent. It takes at least three tries to light and it’s definitely not going against any wind… it blows out super easily with my breath.
This looks interesting but isn't the yellow flame a bit too long? I mean, one of the main advantages of the regular pipe insert is that you can control the length of the flame and the duration of the flame exposure (by controlling the suction through your mouth). This one looks as though it might scorch the rim of the pipe because the flame will always be pointing downwards the amount of the flame isn't controllable.
Lol nope not for me. Sucks the flame in just fine. And it’s a smaller skinnier flame than a regular pipe insert. So def a less chance if that happening. All the pipers I know enjoy it. But the main problem they have with it is that it’s not as wind resistant as the tried tested and true fluid pipe insert. Hope that helps buds but I def think it’s worth getting for only 16$ I use mine everyday
@@usmanshahid8069 I also want to make it clear my edc insert is a gold plated fluid pipe insert with the top cap off. Best multi use insert in my opinion. But my butane pipe I use in my nice zippos in an inside setting no wind. So if that aspect is something your thinking of , keep that in mind.
Zippo's website says the temp of this thing's flame is "up to 1400degrees". That is WAY too hot to be using on pipes. What's up with that? (I have e-mailed Zippo twice with this question, but it seems they aren't big in to answering emails.)
Hahaha I can’t believe they Didnt email u back. That’s not like them. I think that’s what is considered the max temperature of a soft flame it will be fine trust me. Just ask the pipe community on RU-vid that’s already using them. They all tell me it’s great.
We need brass butane inserts. This is a good direction tho. I agree with the bicolor zippo one of the dumbest most overpriced zippo yet. Nobody asked for that monstrosity… zippo if you see this, I’ll tell you what we do want,, ARMOR COPPER and maybe some inserts that stay lit till you close it.
Hey Bor'se I'm still hooked on ya blue berry color Zippo. )) I'd I win lotto I will haply Tman ya ass to LA Las Vegas. May as well throw in 2.5 gold Zippos. One for U one for me and one for ...
Hello, the lighter is okay, but I prefer the classic Zippo lighter with all its details. As for the modern Zippo lighters, the Torch and the gas-powered lighters, I do not like them. Thanks ❤👍🌹
Definitely getting one, have been using the yellow flame insert for a while now and it is very wind picky, this new side style will work great for pipes and cigars.
I often smoke weed joints/bowls and generally just carry lighter for edc when not smoking. Which would you recommend for edc as it seems the pipe will be more wind resistant however i dont know how well itd be to use for non smoking things
After years of use between them all I prefer the single torch. U gotta screw around with the insert to make it work. But once u get it dialed in. Hands down the best. Good on butane. Works great in the wind
I've used the regular yellow flame and the pipe yellow flame extensively for lighting my tobacco pipes. In my experience this new butane pipe version is way more wind resistant than the straight up yellow flame butane version. The housing provides a bit of a wind screen and ergonomically my hands screen the wind better with the pipe version and finally the pipe bowl screens a bit when the tobacco burns down a little. The 45° angle puts the flame directly on the tobacco easier for me anyway. I like the Zippo version over the Z-pipe and Vector versions too because I prefer the flint wheel over the crystal ignition. I am pleased with this insert and it fits all of my cases. Thanks for the review amigo.
Been using one for a few weeks, works good. The back being cover definitely helps the wind resistance. It’s not my everyday but it’s definitely in my rotation or as a backup in my pipe bag
I really enjoy your content! Got mine in the mail yesterday and really like it. Smoke a pipe daily. Like its brother the yellow flame regular, not too good on windy days, but works great indoors. If its windy use a torch lol! Had been using a zippo yellow flame insert for about a 2 weeks and it works very well too.
Just FYI, I guess Zippo understood their Chinese flint stone problem, I got my regualr Yellow flame insert manufactured in 2022 had no problem with spark.
Zippo should have taken a page out of other high end lighters in which whenever you open the cap the gas stays on so you dont have to worry about keeping the button depressed. Still a good design and a step in the right direction. . maybe the next iteration will be that but defintely keep the flint wheel for lighting
There is a thunderbird insert that Is exactly what u speak off. They weren’t for me though. I Didnt like the butane spitting out when the lid was open. Also sometimes The cam sticks open even when u think it’s closed and slowly leaks out.
I just got a regular yellow flame and don't have any problem striking it works great as long as my finger doesn't slip. But honestly the flame on mine is way too high .
I think I'll skip this one, Zippo should really make a piezo Yellow Flame, because their single and double torch work really well. If they do that then I'd buy that instead of the Yellow Flame since it has problems sparking after about a month.
I have 10 between the regular and pipe ones and ones from the first week they came out for over a year now. None of them lighting issues. I light them up first strike on live streams all the time. Probably user errors
@@Zippofanatic77outdoors I replaced mine like 3 times the new one works, but it don't really use it often since the double torch is better. It lights everytime unlike the Yellow Flame.
@@nathenwallis5664 yeah that’s exactly why I got two. There is 2 year warranty on them and they do honour it in typical zippo fashion , no questions asked here’s your brand new one
@Zippofanatic77outdoors I need to get another Zippo. I have one with the standard Zippo brand yellow flame butane insert ( I just got that insert a couple weeks ago ), which is pretty good. I'm not a fan of the standard inserts, since I don't like the smell of lighter fluid, it throws off the taste of the tobacco to me, and obviously the constant refilling is a pain.
@@Zippofanatic77outdoors Bro can you do a video on o ring? Please check whether chimney cap can be installed on regular inserts and if it can then could you do a video on that too?
@@Abhiram.A-bb3ct lol maybe one day the road. It’s not something I’m very interested in. Sandwich bag trick seals the bottom pretty good and chimney caps suck. It makes your wick so charred black and dry. I couldn’t really stand it stopped using it after 2 weeks lol
