The owlet sock was not recalled for false alarms.. Please do your own research, everyone. The FDA wants Owlet to register it as a medical device. FDA recall does not mean the device does not work. Owlet is in the process of doing this. Meanwhile, they are not sold by Owlet in the US, but you can still get them at buybuybaby or bed bath and beyond.
I was about to post the same thing, so thanks for saving me the effort! I was lucky enough to buy mine right before this happened for Amazon's Black Friday sale which saved me a bunch of $, so excited to use it once my little girl arrives 💕
This is true, however I read that the app is no longer being supported during the litigation process. This also means that Owlet won't be pushing out any updates to fix any bugs (which there are many) until after the lawsuit is over. You can still buy the device, but without the app it is effectively useless 😕
She didn’t say it was recalled for false alarms. It was recalled because basically it wasn’t recognized as a medical device our however they worded it which is what she said. If you do your research you’d know about the MANY complaints of false alarms. Sure, not why it was recalled but still a thing.
I’m in the minority that loves a changing table. I changed my sons diapers in my bed a few times and he would pee all Over the bed. Then we were up changing sheets in the middle of the night. I’m also a germaphobe and the thought of changing my childrens diaper where I sleep or where we sit grosses me out lol Def looking into the ring sling though
My baby loves the shusher. We used it one day when she was having a hard time getting to sleep because she was overtired and she stopped crying until she fell asleep!
The Sense-U Baby breathing does the same thing as the Owlet but instead of putting it on the baby’s foot you clip it to the diaper also it’s not as expensive as the Owlet. Of course do your own research but it’s worth looking into while Owlet gets their stuff together
We got a wipe warmer from our registry for our first daughter, and it was a complete waste. I also agree with the diaper pail & changing table/pad.. you just change them in the room wherever you are most of the time, whether that be your bedroom or living area. I also did formula with her, and we rarely used the bottle warmer too. It was just more convenient to use room temp bottled water with the formula.. and she was perfectly fine with it. This time around I refused to put so many things on my registry (first daughter was born 7.5 years ago, so lots of new things have come out since then as well)

Love my carriers and weighted wipe dispenser! Regret the swing we had and new clothes/products. Secondhand is the way to go! Kids grow so fast, stuff isn’t worth the full price
Some companies sell variety packs, go with those. Keep packaging, tags, and whatnot for things so you can try and return them. Second hand expensive purchases are also a great idea. MOST SLEEPERS/LOUNGERS ARE NOT SAFE FOR A BABY TO SLEEP IN. Last and most important, longevity rules over looks and often price. Whether you want multiple kids or not, longevity is the place to look. If it's expensive and you don't need it for long, good quality products can be resold for great prices. The Stroller Workshop is a channel that is completely unbiased and tells you what strollers are the best, and isn't sponsored by any companies. I highly recommend taking a look at some of the videos when purchasing a stroller/pram.
Regret the wipe warmer. Never got a bottle warmer. Pediatrician said babies can take room temp water so I just left the jugs of water out on the counter to use in bottles. Used a simple bassinet, cheap baby swing.
Oh gosh lol I have the nanit for my 2 yr old but just got that same one you mentioned off my baby registry. I was planning to use the nanit for the new baby and the other one for the toddler so hope I don't regret it...
