I reckon PIF has a strong legal position to tie EPL up in courts over what really is fair. There are some sort of anti-trust laws in place. I'm just going to sit back and eat my popcorn. I'm confident with this ownership.
I agree, adopt the Man City attitude, and f*** em, we should not have to be selling players who are our future. The current system only assists the cartel, who’s attitude is one of stuff every one else as long as we are ok.
Or do a deal with Forest, sell them Miggy for 25 and buy one of theirs for an amount that covers their PSR deficit. Let the PL take out more litigations against their members. Lawyers expenses are OSR deductible.
This is all bloody ridiculous. The PIF could put 50 million into the club as a cash investment and there would be no question about PSR.Not the clubs fault it was bought by wealthy owners.
Another negative if we sell Minteh is that it will not put us in good place to tempt youngsters of talent to come to us ongoing if this is their reward, I get its good business financially but not long term for me. all the best.
Is he, Minteh being used as a pawn to challenge FFP, and PSR? As far as I'm concerned we take a fine and a points hit, keep the lad, smash the PL this season and get the lawyers working on our case for genuine fair play
The whole idea of these rules is ridiculous, it's like saying to a tradesman they they need to sell some of the equipment they have bought to ply their trade before they get to the next worksite or be punished because they have invested too much and might be able to take some of the big boys contracts, stick to fitting the odd light switch, and let the big six tradesmen do the full rewires. LOL
Premier league is going downhill fast. What should be a simple game that can be played in the park with jackets used as goal markers where everyone can live the dream, has turned into VAR scrutinising everything and still getting simple decisions wrong, Turned into battle of the accountants instead of Athletes. Who ever is running English football really needs to give their heads a wobble and rethink their life purpose because football is being ruined and sooner or later fans will be walking away because they wont be paying hard earned money for this nonsense. All the best all
And to be fair, the club will want other players out the door before minteh, but the fact is no one wants to buy our shite off us. So unfortunately minteh is the 'only' one we can sell before 30th june.
I would be tempted to hold onto him and take the hit on points. We can't have another season where Miggy is our option on the right. I do think that once the Euros are over, things will start moving. Wilson/Miggy/Longstaff/Tripps can all leave before Minteh.
Ridiculous PSR situation which needs reviewed and revamped. Rules brought in to protect established clubs who built themselves up without spending restrictions.Transfer windows also need reviewing considering we’ve only had a few weeks to make up the money. I’d like to think there’s discussion between NUFC and PL regarding us finding it difficult to sell. It isn’t the clubs fault players don’t want to leave despite our efforts. Any punishment should consider this.
The problem is it hasn’t just cropped up. This has been in the offing for months. It’s the reason I would have made Miggy go in January and told him it was reserves for the rest of his career if he wouldn’t go.
@@TonyODOnnell-tt8gh aye totally. Even when I was growing up In the 90s football was a pure buzz. I remember when there wasn’t a transfer window. Every player was fair game at any time. Now we have transfer windows, PSR, FFP, VAR and absolute whoppers in the FA. Imagine what the likes of Bobby Robson and that would think of today’s game. Honest when all these billionaires find something better to invest money in they will and all the FA are to blame.
I want to see Minten play for Newcastle on the right wing, he could open up the oppositions defence like Anthony Gordon on the other wing. As a Newcastle supporter I was looking forward to seeing him play for us.
Minteh is a prospect pure and simple, a £33m profit on a youngster is phenomenal. There'll be plenty of other prospects and top class players through the door, Rome wasn't built in a day, regardless of PSR!
So we have an accounting issue on one hand but a player that could be great for about a decade in a position that needs covering. Would be getting the benefit long after the points deduction has come and gone. Especially when we are likely to sell other players like Almiron etc to cover this Summers transfer business
Apparently, NUFC are now in talks with KWIK-FIT to sell one of the wheels off our team bus! New PSR rules mean that teams outside the "big six" are not allowed a full set of wheels on their bus.........
Honestly, the relegations in the past devastated me. But, I'm in the camp of putting our balls on the chopping block. In a few short years this ownership has gained my trust. Whatever they do, I'm all in.
Morning Chris, Mark. Hope you're well. I'm in complete agreement with you. Do you think the club has somewhat been caught asleep at the wheel. As in it shouldn't have come to this, selling this phenomenal prospect. Especially when theirs Almiron, Longstaff, even Trippier, etc, to offload. I, like you, am really pissed off at this situation. It's an Utter disgrace. Meanwhile, Chealse spend what they want, & Man 115, city can way outspeed us, despite our mega ritch owners. I say fuck it, take the points. I'm being deadly serious Chris. The player I think will be worth it. This is so sad that the beautiful game has become all about spreadsheets !!
I think that it’s looking increasingly likely that we are going to have to take the deduction. I hope the lad sticks to his guns and digs in. We should have addressed this in January, it is a mistake by the club not to do so. I hope that Eddie is in his ear saying if you stay I would love to play you, this would ideal for me. With his talent he could be worth more than 4 points
Everton fan here, I hate ffp. If u can sort it better, otherwise FA all over you and its disruptive. FA are useless and keeping clubs down. The points deduction if the club is fully co operative will be 4 - 8 points depending which way the wind is blowing in FA headquarters. Anyway goodluck.
To say it's infuriating is putting it mildly. The comparison between ourselves and Chelsea is a great one. Chelsea amassed their wealth by spending crazy from 2003, racking up losses like nobody's business. They now have an owner who can barely spell "football" buying any player with a f'kin pulse and pulling strokes Del Boy would be ashamed of. The original idea of FFP was to avoid another Leeds and not have directors gambling on the club's future in spiralling debt. But FFS, our owners are richer than the rest of the PL combined! They haven't displayed the vulgarity we've seen from other clubs when they've received a cash injection. Poaching players at crazy wages, buying players just so other clubs wouldn't have them, and then sitting them on the bench. There must be players we can ship out ahead of this lad. Surely the club knew this was coming and could have planned. Sad they have to, but Miggy and Wilson should get us over the £30m line. Selling a great prospect for a 500% increase of course makes sense, but when one of the positions we need to strengthen is right-wing, then selling Minteh is bad business, IMO. Take the points if we have to 2-4 at most
If this is all true you have to blame the club. As much as the rules are shocking and it’s obvious that the so called top six are being protected, the club knew the rules. They should have sold someone in January if it was this close to a breach.
Finding very good young players that can fit into the first team is very difficult without spending insane amounts. If we keep him for 5 to 6 years he will win us more than the potential points this anti competition rule will take. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES WILL I SUPPORT, CHEER AND CLAP DCL. Everton will be laughing tbeir tits off.
It's crazy really, Man U 1 billion in debt (but still spending or going to) Chelsea spent 1.1 billion in last year to year and a half (Still spending) Arsenal have spent 700 million in last 3 years yet hardly sell anyone of note for big returns (Heck they paid 3 million for a player that was on a FREE Transfer) let that sink in. The player was on a FREE yet EDU gave the club 3 million after he signed. And now we have Villa and Newcastle who are real threats to that big 6 Cartel and Rules rules rules get applied to them. yep it stinks of BS.
Total joke clubs will wait until the very last minute to low ball us for a player because they know we have to sell to meet PSR 🙄 how does it even make sense that the greedy six can still spend as much as they want while the rest of the premiership can spend nothing and have to sell there assets
Im against a point deduction. We only just scraped 7th last season and would have qualified if manure had not won the final. Taking any points deduction will be a great mistake.
There's even talk of Anthony Gordon being sold now! I am fast becoming sick of PIF and their antics! They have had ages to sort out the problems with PSR but here we are running around at the 11th hour hawking arguably our best player to anyone who'll have him, pathetic!
I'm of the mind set of saying fuck it & just going on a spending spree & taking the hit. How else are we going to grow the club? The suits are determined that we're not going to upset their beloved & protected top 6. I don't see any way we can progress within the rules so fuck ‘em!
The Premier league isn't fit for purpose it's time to question who is running the league, and for who's benefit, there will come a time shortly when those outside the big six will wonder is it worth it, and may consider a breakaway Premier league mark two that's mindset is to help clubs grow rather then to stunt their growth.
This situation is fkibg ridiculous. About time the PIF lawyers throw every fking thing at Masters and his cronies. Meanwhile, every other day chelsea are chucking £40m here, £50m there
Need to change the current losses of 105 mill a year . That was introduced 10 years ago the fuckwitts . Players have doubled in price now along with wages etc
Of course they delay and stall on the arbitration for Dan the Garden man’s breach of contract, Man Utd’s fine for tapping up and NUFC receiving £10m+ …
Boils my piss... Club knew we needed to sell b4 end 9f season... Now we are scrambling to sell a hot prospect for peanuts... Someone needs sacked... Need dof in now...
It’s hardly whining, it’s concern for the club, I’m concerned about what we’re doing and able to do to strengthen the squad in the close season. If you don’t like people talking about topics surrounding Newcastle, really sorry to hear that, but the door is that way 👉🏻🚪
It's passion, & concern for a club we love. Far from whining, just saying it for what ffp, psr is. An utter outdated disgrace, to protect. The breakaway 6. No more, no less...
