I was was at both matches and was well aware that the team we were going to see on the Friday was going to be youngsters. It was always going to happen. And it didn’t bother me in the slightest. The result bothered me and is an indictment on our youth academy but it didn’t surprise me. It was about the whole week and how much enjoyment we had. There was so much good from the week that one thing doesn’t change how much fun I had in the week

Eddie and Jason Tindall laughing when the third goal went in! People traveled thousands of miles and some paid thousands to watch their heroes. No respect at all for the fans. As one Aussie said, "You've got our MONEY now p*** of home and don't come back". Eddie said the first teamers were tired after the previous game! Most of the regulars only played half a game against Spurs and even then there was no intensity, more like a low-key, laid-back training session. They are elite athletes, they could have come on for at least half an hour for the sake of the fans. Shameful night for Newcastle. Sorry Australia for that shite show and total lack of respect.

Complete waste of money and a slap in the face to us aussie (and international) fans who flocked to see this game. I went but left with a disappointed and tainted feeling. What was a special and once in a lifetime visit for many of us this week really finished on a sour note with that completely uninterested and uncompetitive effort. Yes, we knew this was a post season tour that would feature a lot of youth players and cotton wool for the big stars with upcoming international committments but it felt like we were mugged by the club here.
if you follow the club you should know well by now thanks to how ashley ran us for years that our academy kids are shite we are not chelsea or city with talented kids in their academies we are not there yet if you knew the first team wasn't gonna play why are you this disappointed relax bro
@@listey because it was marketed as 'Newcastle vs the All Stars', not 'Newcastle U21s vs the All Stars'. The promotional materials showed players like Trippier, Barnes on the marketing. With our gruelling season, I didn't expect to see Bruno, Isak and Trippier playing 70+ mins against the All Stars but I paid 200 AUD thinking I might get to see 45 mins of Ritchie or Dummett or other fringe players at least, wasn't expecting a full strength team after the Spurs game but what we got was pretty disappointing. I don't regret seeing the game but I certainly wouldn't have paid that price had I known it would be a bunch of soon to be released U21s. Some fans flew in from other cities or overseas so they would have forked out even more all things considered. For further context, Manure, Barca and Juventus have all played the All Stars and they brought over the likes of Van Persie, Pogba and Dembele. If the point was to grow the brand and profile here, the club failed miserably as many locals and media now think Newcastle is a joke
Never seen such contempt shown towards fans like this. Hugely disrespectful and damaging. I thought we wanted to grow and increase fan base/revenue? Well this is not how you go about it. What a poorly coordinated & monumental waste.
It was pretty shocking to pay thousands to watch that shower! Why couldn't some first team or bench players play for 10mins at least? Just for a casual game? Had a sweet week in Melbourne, it really was like being out doon the toon on a Bank Holiday, and the Spurs game was great to see and a proper Toon experience, but this game was beyond the pale. Our bank account wishes we would've just come for 3 days to watch the Spurs game.
