The Royal Australian Air Force and the City of Newcastle put on a fantastic display showcasing the fleet of Air Force aircraft from around Australia in action. There was almost 85,000 people to line Nobby’s Beach and Foreshore Park to watch the over-water flying displays and see the aircrafts up close at Williamtown RAAF Base over the 2 day event. The Air Force showcased the full suite of current aircraft and some historic aircraft from No. 100 Squadron. Everything from the latest F-35A Lightning II to vintage World War II and Vietnam War era planes performed exciting air displays and flypasts. The Roulettes thrilled the crowds with impressive acrobatics in Pilatus PC-21s and were followed by more fighter displays by the EA-18G Growler and F/A-18F Super Hornet.
