@@HHRecycling I definitely laughed. I thought you did a great job editing and voice over. It’s not easy making a video about scrapping a phone fun, but you nailed it.
Magnets come in handy! :) Love the commentary throughout the breakdown process. Sometime scrappers take stuff apart so you don't have to. LOL Once the board is out, it gets graded and then goes into a bin. Unless there's any chunky monkey copper coils or transformers on the board, and sometimes aluminum, it just goes right in the bin. I'd probably take it apart more if I was closer to Boardsort. Great video bud! :)
Thanks, Bob. I'm glad you enjoyed it. I try to put the model numbers in for that very reason. I have googled thing to scrap before and have found some good scrap videos from it. I think I am going to start depopulating a lot of the not great boards. So far, I have been saving everything but after watching Nice Junk's boardsort series I found out that they pay pretty good for chips and stuff, too.

Dumping landline phones from your house is not the only option when going to cellphones. If you have phone sockets in bedrooms, office, garage, garden shed, i.e. a fully wired system, then they will still work if you get an internet provider that offers a home-phone socket - usually free. Phones will all work and ring, though in rare cases you may need a Viking amplifier - e.g. RG-4.
Yeah, when I lived in Ontario we tried a VOIP home phone because it was $50 less than the landline, but the service was awful. I just switched my home number to my cell phone when that option became available. I don't think many people here even bothered with the home phones after cell service improved to cover everywhere.

Haha, I'm sure there are, just not around here. I live in a remote town in northern BC and other than the businesses, there are very few landlines left. Everyone has a cell phone and when they started allowing people to move their home phone numbers to cell phones, most people did that. Mind you, it's just a town of around 700 people.
