Sewing Method updated Flat Felled Seam:
Learned this from a Crafty's Video, Christopher Nejman (youtube) and sewing outdoor canopy/sun umbrella (youtube).
This only works on strati run of stitches, it will not work on curves.
An easier way to do a flat felled seam, then old was was to do the seam, trim off one of the seam allowances to about 1/4", then fold over the other seam allowances over the cut one, then fold them both to one side then run a top stitch down on top of the folded seam.
If you want the seam to look like the outside seam of jeans, then do with right sides together. I may have messed up the audio section when filming, I have dyslexia and sometimes mix up right/left, rightside/wrongside, north/south, ect
Hard to explain in text definitely want to watch the video.
The newer method is to take one piece of the fabric and fold over and press about a 1/4 to 1/2" or to whatever you want the width of the flat felled seam to be.
Then you place the other piece of fabric into the fold getting all the way to the crease you just made, then stitch a row on the edge of the folded over edge.
Then open up fabric and press to seam over to left, and top stitch down the folded over fabric and you are done, No cutting.
