Great video. I watched a video of someone baking those gems you get at the Dollar tree in the oven and then dumping them into ice water. She then put them in between 2 paper plates and tapped it with a hammer to break them up, she used them in a freeform resin geode.

leah hunt I am using a brick now to hold it LOL. I don’t want to screw it to the table because I move it around a lot. I am going to build a movable platform for it but the brick is working for new

BrendA Williamson I use mostly Rustoleum. Once in awhile a jetliner gets in there because krylon has great colors but it has terrible coverage when trying to base color a cup

QUESTION???? I want to be your best friend ;) !!!! I LOVE your videos,. You have inspired me so much.! My question is,, in between layers of epoxy do you have to send everytime. I use StoneCoat apoxy. But I'm afraid to sand after this first layer of apoxy & ruin the glitter and stones I used... Thank you so much for sharing and your time. You seem like a beautiful soul!!

if you need to sand you can use 220 grit just to get it a little smoother but if it isn't needed you don't have to, be careful not to sand down to the glitter, you just want to sand the bumpy epoxy

This has probably been asked before, but have you ever had fish eye or air bubbles appear several days after it is dried( more than 5 days)? If so what am I doing wrong? Also thank you for the tip about sanding the uneven spots on the cups. I have some cups I will try to salvage...

Cynthia Stewart I use a cheap strainer from dollar store and scoop the paint off the top. I pour mine one on one of my fruit trees when I need fresh water. But if you take the paint off the top you can just pour it down your toilet if you don’t have a fruit tree LOL

Say like this GEODE cup.. do you have to sand in between each coat of apoxy??? And what would happen if you don't sand between each coat? I use StoneCoat countertops..

I tried this today. Prepped the cup. Saned, washed, wiped with alcohol. sprayed into the bucket dipped the cup, the paint all separated and had thickened and wouldnt stick to the cup but rather clumped?

After you epoxy, is your crushed glass portion sharp? Or is it smooth?

Jennifer Skipper I use a drill master to sand down the sharp bits if there are any but generally the epoxy covers them well enough so they aren’t sharp

peaches jackson Many variables, if it’s a kids cup I use my DIY, if I have lots of ventilation I use crystal clear or pro marine and if I have no ventilation I use the DIY

DIY has zero VLC can handle heats up to 500° and is thicker than the rest of the brands so it works well on keychains

Yes you do. It keeps the epoxy from falling off the cup. You can make a hand turner, but it is a lot more work.

FYI YOU SHOULD ALWAYS ALWAYS FILL YOUR BUTANE TORCH, WHILE HOLDING BOTH THE TORCH AND THE BUTANE REFILL UPSIDE DOWN WHEN REFILLING.

pricing widely depends on your economic area and supply cost, it is impossible to nail down a price point because there are too many pricing differences from region to region

I just found you and am enjoying your videos. I would suggest that you move your camera to a different location and not right over your head; that way your head doesn’t get into the frame when you are working close to your project. Keep it up!

Amy Hinds I have tried shooting from every angle and this one seems best. If I move it to pretty much any other angle my face is in frame and you are basically looking down my shirt. LOL

how long does your tumbler motor usually last. a lady i know who does cups seems to burn the motor up all the time. Maybe it her though lol.

Candy Cook she is probably working with microwave motors. They are not designed to run for hours just minutes at a time. She should switch to barbecue rotisserie motors from Lowe’s or Home Depot. That’s what I use on a regular basis and they run 24 hrs a day

It depends on what you mean when you say smooth. The epoxy is super smooth when it is done but it lumps over the stones, but the finish is smooth over the lumps

Just a couple of things. The mask is great, but you also need non-vented goggles to protect your eyes from the fumes, and you absolutely NEED nitrile gloves. They will protect you from chemicals, where the vinyl or latex won't.

Can you put too much mod podge? I start on one last night and I applied the mod podge heavy coat at one time and it’s still white😢. It’s been almost 24 hours? Is there any way to fix it or does it need more time to dry?
