minji changing herself for a boy and learning that she doesn’t need to be anyone but herself, hanni learning to build up so much courage to invite her online crush, hyein crushing on a softboy artsy type only for him to turn out to be a huge jerk,and danielle and haerin being two-timed by the same guy so they learn the power of friendship and set out to get revenge on him. love how each tells a story, whether heartwarming or heartbreaking, but it’s relatable all the same.

I like their almost retro-ish nostalgic sound, mid-late 90s to early 2000s feel. "Attention" for some reason reminds me a littttle bit of Janet Jackson's Runaway (vibe-wise, at least to me) but of course they don't sound the same.

Their director, Min Hee jin is a top Visual & art director in Kpop for years. she was in SM before, and now she's CBO of a new label ADOR in HYBE. she involved and directed the concept of new Hybe company building. NewJeans is her 1st project.

I love this group so much their music is just my style I think i will stan them

Nobody mentioned them because nobody knew this was coming. This was not announced. No teasers, nothing. Just a music video out of the blue. Social media for this group was only set up after Attention was released. Interesting strategy to just drop a new group on us without saying anything. But I like the chill vibe of their music a lot. They have potential!

this group was originally supposed to debut during 2019-2021 (supposedly 2020) but got delayed due to covid! hanni co-wrote the song “hypeboy” AND “hurt” as well!

The song "Attention" is 🔥 90's Cali vibes 💯 so refreshing!

I read that Attention is their pre-debut single. Their debut date is August 1 with their lead single called Cookie. ADOR just has a different way to introduce the girls to the public. Hype Boy (in my opinion) is like a way to focus on each person in the group.

These MV's, the style and songs are giving me late 90's and early 2000's vibes. Major trowback to my teenage years. I'm loving these. Especially Hype Boy is a gem.

This whole thing is so exciting to me as a kpop fan. I've never seen a debut marketing strategy like this before (not saying it hasn't happen, I just haven't seen it), and it's so smart. Like the only reason I was instantly invested was because I saw HYBE upload "New Jeans - Attention" and I'm like wth is this song? Who are these girls? Did I miss an announcement? Because usually their social media will flood with images and introductions and teasers for every comeback, and even more so for a debut. But no. It's literally like SURPRISE this is the first b side for a group you haven't heard of, here's the MV, we haven't even told you our names yet, but we want your attention. Then the second track, with the storylines and the MVs is genius. It's a really clever member introduction. The two songs I love. They have a really light sound and vibe. Kind of 90s 00s feeling, and a lovely youthful energy. These girls are babies as far as I know so I appreciate that they're not being boxed into a more mature packaging as well. Even just the fact that I happily sat through multiple replays of Hype Boy to see all the MVs, and the song just grew on me even more. I'm so annoyed that I can't get them on Spotify yet because they're not even out yet. As far as I know there's another track and MV coming tomorrow, and then the official debut with the title track and all that jazz is August 1st. So 4 tracks total, each with at least one MV. Fun! I noticed people on Tiktok absolutely roasting the group name as well, which would be valid if every other kpop group name didn't just look like the label threw together a bunch of scrabble pieces, and I'm talking about the groups I love. 😂I mean who doesn't like new jeans? Also, I saw people already begging ADOR to call their fandom Leggings...which...👏Someone said the New Jeans thing is like jeans are for everybody or whatever, and also means New Genes (as in the new generation -of kpop?). I love the creativity.

Oh ! It’s nice to see you react to them, I discovered them on point the day they released "Attention" ! I can of really like what they are doing, it’s not something conventional you see from K-Pop nowadays and I like what they put on the table. Min Heejin is a well known person in the industry and she was doing a great work with SM, so I hope she will take care of them well.

Love your reaction so much. I’ve seen some K-pop music videos that features social media but New Jeans really took “these days we live in a phone” concept seriously and took it to another level. Really like their aesthetic.

Both of their songs are crazy good, it's really unique from what i usually here in kpop.

Honestly i was so shocked i basicly descovered them only because i shecked hybe's Chanel to look at txt's New collab 😅

And every MV's somehow correlate/connected to each other. Like "Attention" they want to be the attention, then these "Hype Boy" got their attention, after finding out what's up some of the girls got "Hurt", and they decided to get some "Cookie" to feel better 😆

Really loved your interpretation, I watched these MVs several times but I never quite thought about it the way you do! The whole idea of hyping up a certain person and then having to deal with how they really are irl is such a great concept.

Actually, you're quite incorrect about saying that they are hyping this "boy" but then they found out they're not worth it.. in Hanni's MV, she was happy that she met the white hoodie dancer which actually was a girl. Also, with Minji's MV, you see her with the lime slush dude happy bonding together.

I've seen many reactions to this gg and their song 'Hype Boy' and between all the boys reactors, I think you are one of the few that got the message of each story, and I really like your analysis. I think we all can relate to one of the stories because in a certain way we have experienced that, new kpop fans may be experienced those crushes situation and maybe we as adults are like 'oh man yeah I feel that's 😅😅 I've been a kpop fan since I was their age lmao and I've never seen something like that in terms of the marketing thing to make us watch 4 different version of a song lol that was clever. I also like that these songs have like a nostalgic 90s vibe which is a fresh sound nowadays and it really shows their youthful side and talent at such young age. On the other hand the MVs are beautiful, plus they are having so much fun and I really like the diversity of people there, I am curious about what the Korean public think about it though. I am sure that they will affect other teenagers in some type of way, I hope in a positive one, but overall they are great! I just hope they won't be overworked though cuz they are babies 🥺 lmao

Minjus hype boy ended up dating her, hanni was just a fan of her hype boy and it wasn't a boy so she lost feelings, the duet never had hype boys and only looked at each other the whole mv, and hyerins hype boy made fun of her so she dumped him

Musically, I dig the vibe of this group, but I have won't a strong opinion until an album comes out. Need them to flex their vocals if they have any and see what other sounds they pull off... But I will say, how the company is handling the group is...peculiar. Debut out of nowhere and different version MVs of a song is interesting to say the least.

The only issue I see is that their vocals all sound the same…no vocal diversity…they all have strong vocals though

Attention has a cool smooth sound. I dig it that sound. I don't like the other song at all and I'm not a 13 year old girl, nor have I ever been, so I just can't relate to the videos. Someone/s in charge is Western or very influenced/inspired by the West it would seem. Woke type def.
