the fact that a company as massive as Warner Bros is collaborating with a k-pop group is insane… but letting NJ do a whole video/song with a Powerpuff girls theme is AWESOME. It fits their whole vibe so well and they all truly fit that aesthetic from early 2000s that the powerpuff girls encapsulated. Obviously you guys must not be very familiar with the show but a lot of us that grew up during the time that the show was popular got absolute chills when their eyes popped up. They’re gaining worldwide popularity and I couldn’t be more excited as a fan 🐰

I appreciate the sentences about the meta part, their own thing. This is definitely NewJeans. And for the more "calm vibe", yeah this comeback sounds so different. But every new latest MV seems to take this path too. "Simple but fast instrumental behind" and cool voice in front of it. Looks like a new trend for the next months.

New Jeans 'new Jeans' is very reminiscent of the early 2000s uk mainstream garage/house sound. If you are familiar with that sort of music then its quite familiar but that said ive never heard anyone use that sound in kpop before... even super shy has that soft drum'n'bass dance sound of the early 2000s uk.
