Cool with You tells a story of Greek mythology of Cupid, Psyche and Venus. In the beginning of the music video Hoyeon is seen walking behind the blonde girl as she is her Cupid. In the elevator she gives a glance at the guy symbolizing shooting him with a love arrow. She walks out of the elevator as they make out and moves on to the next. However, she runs into Psyche (her love interest) which she ends up falling in love with. However, Pysche cannot see Cupid as she is not a human. In the end of Side A she sheds her black clothing as it rains and looks up at the heavens and asks to become human. In Side B her request was answered and she becomes a human and Psyche can finally see her for the first time. They fall in love as you see throughout the MV but in the end the silver haired man represents Venus who turns Cupid back into a human and makes Psyche forget about her and makes him fall in love with a different woman. Calling back to side A MV while Cupid was obsessing over Psyche she abandoned her duties as a matchmaker as she refuses to set Psyche up with a woman and allows the couple from the beginning of the MV to get in a fight and break up. Venus turns Cupid back into a human out of a combination of jealousy and to remind Cupid that her duties are to make people fall in love and not to fall in love herself. NewJeans represent Cupids guardian angels or muses that try to remind her of her duties and are always watching over her. Overall the MV tells a tale that in the end everyone deserves love and does so through the lens of Greek mythology.

"Cool with You" story is that the lead is Cupid (you can see her making couples), and she wanted to find love and she broke the rules by making herself visible to humans. she briefly dated the guy until her boss appeared and snapped her from existing. what makes NJ videos cool is that they aren't the leads in any of their MV's, they are side characters

ETA Theory: the underlying theme throughout Newjeans MV’s is that they aren’t really there. They are an outside presence helping and supporting whoever the main character is. Notice during the first phone call you can hear Dani saying “we have to perform”. Indicating that they are an idol group not her real friends. In ETA, (opening scene in the car) you can see the emerald next to the phone. Later on u see the same emerald bracelet on the cheating bf when he’s on the car hood with the other girl. This indicates everything in the MV already happened while Eva in the car is the present. The scenes that follow: Eva looking the the rear view mirror seeing her bf and other girl kissing Eva in the car in the pool seeing her bf and other girl kissing Newjeans in the gas station(with mics on) Newjeans as cops Newjeans in the car with her driving through the tunnel Eva (kinda) running over bf(does that look like a couple who’s been run over?! Nope) They staring at her lol. THIS is all a fantasy. Imagining Newjeans are her friends who are looking out for her and spilling the tea. Believing all the rumors of her bf cheating and then imagining when and how he cheated: pool party, swimming pool etc. Fantasizing about running him over. People who’ve been cheated on will sometimes fantasize about getting back at the cheater. Revenge fantasies it’s called. Though most don’t do anything of course. The ending scene: The underlying theme of some of Newjeans MV’s, they are there to support and comfort. Ditto, Cool with You. Eva, with the help of Newjeans (we see Hanni and Minji in the car mirrors) finally gets over the cheating bf. The shirt in the trunk and the running over is a metaphor for her finally getting over it and ridding herself of all the pain and angst from getting cheated on. So, no, Newjeans is not advocating violence when cheated on, lol. Another brilliant project by the same director as Ditto and CWY, represent the parasocial relationship between idols and their fans. How music and their relationships with singers can help through the most difficult times in life. Hope my view helps. Ty

"Cool With You" - From what I understood in the MV is that, she is a cupid and her duty is to make people fall in love, but she ended up falling in love with a human, consequently the lord appears and shows her the real work she should do. I understood it like this.. I love you 🇧🇷💖

And yeah it’s telling like she’s a Cupid who makes people fall in love but it’s not working because she’s falling in love with the guy so she gives up her powers to be with him but at the end the higher up makes him forget her as a punishment for not doing her what she was made to do

Cupido hace que las personas se enamoren, por eso la escena del ascensor, pero se termina enamorando de un humano al cual solo visita en sus sueños, por eso la escena en la cama. Ella sufre por este motivo, así que pide el deseo de volverse mortal para estar con psique, eso se refleja en la escena de la lluvia. Su deseo es escuchado y experimenta una relación amorosa pero se distrae y deja de hacer su trabajo de Cupido, es por eso que al final Venus (el señor de pelo gris) la castiga sacandole su deseo. Al volverse cupido de nuevo, sin querer hace que el chico (psique) se enamore de alguien más, es decir, la chica que vió cuando cruzaban la calle.

Having a cupid strip away her own cloths as a metaphor to strip away her cupid power and feel the existence of her own flesh once again and uncertain whether it works to be visible in front of him, that's brilliant. I'm pretty sure Cool With You MVs reference some mythological story. Not entirely sure which as I am not well versed in them but I saw someone infer that the storyline can be interpreted as a goddess/god of love (something like Cupid or Aphrodite) falling in love with a mortal man and being punished for it by another god. To me in this situation NJs come off as messengers or an omen of some kind, like a warning.
