You're right! OMG is confusing because it references 5 songs/mvs of theirs. The experience wouldve been more better if you reacted to their mvs chronologically, but it is what it is. PLUS it doesnt really help that they were supposed to be mentally ill patients: an iPhone, a fairytale princess, a movie protagonist, a cat, and the last one was a psychologist but all of them were patients in the mental facility 😂

Took me a while to get into NJ but man, they are so f**king good. Like literally went from meh to OBSESSED. They in my top 5 groups now. Plus if you watch variety/reality content they are absolutely hilarious and adorable

Supershy is UK garage with elements of drum and bass ETA is UK garage with elements of jersey club omg is .. i dunno but its a sort dance/rnb style that acts as a transistion sound from the 90s rnb of the first ep to the uk garage of the 3rd.

NJs have 3 E.P.s - New Jeans - OMG - Get Up OMG was a mini EP composed of 2 tracks, OMG & DITTO. These 2 tracks and Music Videos are intertwined and the correct order to watch is DITTO 1 & 2 then OMG. However in order to fully understand the end of OMG I Highly recommend starting from the 1st Debut E.P. and work your way Chronologically. It will all make sense afterwards. Also ETA is sponsored in part by Apple by not an Apple Commercial, unlike Zero. Their latest E.P. (Get Up) Which contains Super Shy as well as ETA the videos were mainly filmed in Portugal (Lisbon for Super Shy) and Spain (if not mistaken). Their 1st E.P. Videos were also shot in Barcelona.

both omg and ETA are very deep context and lore of newjeans 'omg' is actually the 3rd part to side a and side b of 'ditto' but its interesting you watched it after eta as eta has the same message as ditto just a much different situation. In ETA the main girl 'eva' is obsessed and paranoid... she uses 'newjeans' to fuel this (newjeans dont exist physically but in evas mind and through her phone).. notice newjeans are with her one second and gone the next... newjeans wear angel wings when they perform this and also in this music video suggesting they may well be the voices in evas head.. the angels on each shoulder if you will.. telling her to lose the boy on HER arm (bad side) and need a boy on MY arm (good side) in the end eva gives into her paranoia and kills the boy and his girlfriend.. puts them in the boot of the car and ending suggests shes about to push it into the ocean. i will leave a seperate comment for omg so the ost isnt too longwinded lol

For the omg video They are all insane 😅 Hanni thinks she is Siri Hyein thinks she's a Disney character/princess Haerin thinks she is a cat Danielle thinks they are constantly performing Minji thinks she is the doctor treating them 😅 Interesting enough, NJ makes videos ( omg and Ditto ) about just how toxic kpop can get 😅

LOL "zero" the song is fully, actually an ad. but ETA isn't an ad. it's a real song on their album, they just partnered with apple for the MV

ETA and OMG are deep in lore i will explain to you after this comment but just be aware their are two more songs like this which require you to pay attention to the video... they are AMAZING in terms of story though.. they are; Ditto side a follwed by ditto side b Cool with you side a followed by cool with you side b The rest of their videos are more like regular videos so you dont have to pay too much attention to them and can focus on the music

OMG references the negative effects and pressure put onto idols by toxic fans and the industry itself... its the 3rd part in a trilogy (first 2 being ditto side a then ditto side b.. which is the opposite of this and the problems idols can effect onto fans) In OMG newjeans have lost reality of their real selves and have just become puppets or slaves to the industry and the fans.. they have become what the fans want them to be and nothing else... hanni as iphone is the most obvious... she sings for you, she dances for you, shes there whenever you call, she exists only for you. Dani has gone mental by being an idol.. she remember she is one but has still gone crazy.. watching white noise and probably thinking shes seeing her and newjeans on it (theres a parralel of this in ditto). Hyein is seen as a fairytale princess by the fans so sees herself as one but when shes about to get rescued by her prince charming the fans (represented by the bear) put an end to it.. shes exists for them only and no prince charming is going to take her away. Haerin has cat like features and in reality not only the fans but the other members also are constantly telling her she not looks like one but acts like one as well... so now she literally sees herself as just a cat. Minji is the oldest member of the group and in reality is quite motherly to the other girls.. so now she sees herself as doctor because that means even though shes crazy she can still look after her girls even in that capacity. the ending says it all really... the toxic fans gets shutdown by minji and its made clear the toxic fan is crazy too for thinking the way they do...

oh just to say before you do the guide 'an (un)helpful guide to newjeans 2024 version' is probably their best one because its a lot of fun as well as being informative.. there are some other guides out there that are either quite old or quite boring..
