I agree that the 6 year old boy should be expelled from this school for what he had done to his teacher and the rest of the school but what about his parents were they brought up foe question by the police of how their son manage to get a hold of a dangerous weapon.

I agree! After all these speeches that all these parents gave pray tell me why are they not home schooling why are they still every morning scared2death sending their children to a government building where they are not safe tell me please tell me cuz I cannot understand it for the life of me "Do you feel nervous about sending your grandson to school?" "of course of course" yet she sends him Who is really letting these kids down who is really slacking on the safety of these children it's the parents and the people who have custody of these children or sending them to government schools where they do not care about your children all they want is the dollar they get for your childs behind to be in the seat

I live in this city and this among other reasons is why I homeschool my kindergartener. Sadly most people don’t have the option because both parents have to work. I’m old school and I will never send my child to school because it isn’t the same as when I grew up. My step daughter is in hampton and goes to public school and I worry about her. We don’t get a say so in her education. In 4th grade she had a threat at her school which is 3-8 grade and asked us what she would do if there was a shooter. No child should ever have to worry about that but they actually do have to teach that in schools now a days. Luckily my step daughter is in 10th grade and I hope that she will never have this happen to her.

@@angelar1211 GOD BLESS YOU!!!!!! There are options! Parents must sacrifice Simple as that! We have been spoon-fed this idea that we have to have a big huge house two cars all sorts of trappings that keep us stuck in the rat in this rat race no one can tell me that it is not possible I live in the most liberal state in the country where homeschool is truly hated I have a friend who's daughter-in-law and Son went to prison she was left with their two children who were in 4th and 5th grade she took custody of them she was terrified but she gave up everything to homeschool them and the oldest one just graduated her grandson is on his way he will graduate this coming year as my mother used to say where there's a will there's a way if people are truly concerned about the safety of their children they will homeschool

Sounds that this 6 yr old had anger issues and lashed out before this incident. I really want to know if the teachers wanted him assessed for ADD, ADHD OR Autism. So that they could get him help before this incident. A lot of times parents refuse to get thier kids help because they are shamed that there is something wrong with their kid or don't want them labeled. Or he had behavioral issues that was not from above situation but from something else that could have been given him help in order to prevent him from doing such harmful actions as taking a gun and shooting it. Curious if this kid was one of those kids.

@@dar7230 sadly I had worked in this field. And the parents I dealt with didn't want the child labeled. But the child needed the diagnoses to get the help the child needed. It's a pet peeve of mine. Turns out this 6 yr old had issues and part of his care required the presence of his parents at school at all times. I never heard of that. He needed a proper teacher aid and he should have been in a class that met his needs. Other children their had to learn in a violent atmosphere.

He shouldn’t have been in school period. If he is so disabled that his parents have to attend class with him. SMH protect the bad kids at all cost as long it is equitable to ALL students. Aka we aren’t going to do anything about it because they want federal dollars for ese kids.
@victorialavenderasmr
@victorialavenderasmr Год назад
I question if he really has a disability or if the parents are just saying that to have a sorry excuse for the kid’s behavior. There are millions of kids around the world that have disabilities of all kinds and they don’t do what he did. That sounds to me like that he has some sort of behavior emotional issue or possibly a personality disorder. Which, in that case he needs some professional help. He is obviously being exposed to something at home that the parents aren’t telling the media.

I agree, but the law abiding citizens get angry they can]'t easily acess their newest weapon, like a beloved toy. They value their right to own a gun over0 the safety. I don't blame the child, or even the teachers or staff. He's 6 and parents are responsible for what they do at that age. I blame the officials, the politicians. And adults who just stopped giving a fuck. I sense the 6 year old either has some unadressed issues, or is being abused.

Parents are eager to blame schools, yet allow their own children to play with and watch violence every day. I am dumbfounded at the junk that my parents allow my students to watch and play. Parents need to do more too. They also need to stop complaining if we send the kids home, because of bad behaviors, or remove recess privileges for the day. They all need to allow us to do our jobs and get these types of students the mental/educational help they need. Many parents refuse the help offered, because they don't like the stigma it creates with their families. There are many resources out there, but no one wants to admit their own family may need them. It is gross negligence on many adults, why these kids are struggling! As a public school teacher, I am very angered and frustrated at what I am seeing play out every day! The public school system can't even afford to give us toilet paper, paper towels, hand-soap, and school supplies. How are they going to afford security, and metal detectors at every school?! Taxes are about to go up, and we will hear complaints about that too! It is always easy to blame others. Many need to take responsibility!

WHAT is his disability? Has he been assessed by a licensed psychologist or psychiatrist, and under the care of said psychologist or psychiatrist? Is he on medication and, if so, was he taking it? If he is so violent / dangerous, why was he allowed to attend school? Why not private tutoring in a secure facility? And how was that gun 'secured'? How did he 'unsecure' it & take it to school without his mother realizing it? We are not getting answers.

Except maybe the parents or at least they should have seen it. Believe me, I have worked in the school system for 29 years. There is little to NO parenting happening anymore. It’s the elephant in the room that no one wants to talk about. If we don’t talk about it, we will never solve it. Not only did the parents neglect to notice that their 6 year old took a gun to school but let’s face it folks - it is NOT normal for a 6 year old to be so angry that they want to hurt their teacher. A baby is not born angry, violent or entitled. These are learned behaviors. There were signs that both the parents and the school either missed or just ignored. Get used to it. This is what happens when a country stops valuing personal responsibility.

This is a exceptional rare that a School shootings happen in other countries. I live in Australia. Schools don't have any form of security because they don't need it. This is something that is very much a problem of U.S.A. Most other Countries hand gun ownership is strictly regulated. Where I live rifle and shotgun ownership is allowed . Hand guns only for a very good reason. You must be licensed and pass criminal check also pass a test. A restricted licence is allowed for 12-year-olds and over. At 18 years of age full gun licence. For the state of Victoria, Australia.

No no no when I was raising children I experienced harassment from several teachers with one son because he was very intelligent and gentle; his mom being a professional. When single African mothers are raising boys, studies have indicated that these kids get harassed by their teachers more frequently. The W female teachers were harassing one of my sons constantly. He was really smart and gentle as well. They started the harassment in kindergarten. It was pure evil and most involved were white females. Therefore, an investigation needs to be done because I think somebody in that classroom was mistreating him and it was either the teacher or the teacher was allowing some of the other children pick on him. From my experience the W female teachers were the most destructive and I had to stay on top of them every day and every year. They were just pure evil. Some years I just homeschooled because they were obviously trying to sabotage their education. He is a baby and from my experiences he was being picked on and harassed. I really believe she was apart of his negative experiences. I am not condoning what he did! But I would like to question her and get her vibe because I think she was mistreating him!!!

Sorry but as a teacher myself, counseling was never going to stop this shooting. The counselors see kids for 20-30 minutes once a week and constantly reschedule. Nothing a counselor can do to fix a 6 year old. This is on the parents. Adding counselors to schools is suggesting a bandaid for a bullet wound …literally
