Lincoln County is not a rich County and has been a fishing based community for decades. What many do not realize is driving around in Newport after 6 Pm looks like a tourist activity. Locals do not drive late as this town is the 'Bee Hive' center of the Lincoln County Sheriff, Newport PD, Oregon State Police, K9 patrol, Bike Patrol and numerous citizen watch groups. Tinted windows do not work here in Oregon in the Fall, Winter, Spring as it is dark similar to Norway. You turn on an interior light or your phone lights up and now you are in a mirror box. You can see the 'newbys' with their windows down and wet from the horizontal rain so prominent September thru April and into May. this is no place to be with no housing. It is wet. Camping here is fun in late May, June and July. Too many folks by August. Growing up in Oregon I have lived from Astoria to Yachats. Nice people who like keep to themselves but will help those in need. I call it Oregon a lovely shade of green, always and forever Blue. @@roundedapollo8054 they arrest tourists and put them in jail for long periods of time, for unnecessary reasons. Worst possible location to visit on the west coast, with the possible exception of Oakland California
