I was brought up in the 1950's in a beautiful town of around 10,000 inhabitants. From the early 1960's and the appearance of the first "surfers" it has deteriorated more so every decade into the eyesore it is now. You no longer hear a Cornish dialect, the population has quadrupled, planning has been out of control and dropped into the greedy hands of Developers. Local Business men that I could name were some of those biggest culprits. The town is now a SHIT HOLE! Pedestrianisation of BANK STREET was a criminal act! Never mind the slow traffic flow we once had, you don't promote the DRUG TRADE! Many of us have moved inland and stay away from our beloved coastline from April to October! The Goose that laid the golden egg (Cornwall) is turning into a California, the cesspit part like Los Angeles!!!!!!!! Here is a test. Who was Trefry? Locals in general knew. EMMETT's wouldn't have a clue when standing on North Quay.
