Producer Jack Douglas was obviously distraught, he had just seen John less than an hour ago at the studio when he was very much alive and in great spirit.
Fans can be stalkers which is scarier, but to be a fan out to kill is gut wrenching. Hollywood stars have to constantly look over their back or hire private security guards. It's a crazy world.
I still cannot believe this ended up happening to George Harrison 19 years later. He survived but the doctors think it weakened him and the cancer got him quicker.
Technically, being a Beatle is one of the most dangerous occupations there is. If you were a member of the Beatles, you had a 50/50 chance of being murdered (assuming you believe that his wounds indirectly led to his death.)
@@MarkHarrison733 Duh. No one is denying that. But Harrison's OWN SON said that once he was stabbed multiple times during the attack in 1999 (including the knife puncturing his lung), it weakened his body and the cancer came at him much more aggressively.
Never seen this footage before. Errie! Just think John is in that hospital & doctors are trying to save his life as this is all going on. I was only 9 at the time & didn't know much about John & the Beatles. I had just gotten the Starting Over 45 single a couple of weeks before this tragedy happened. I didn't know what happened until the next morning when my mom told me. She introduced me to the Beatles & always played their music. When I came back from school later on the next day on the 9th, my mom bought the Double Fantasy album & we listened to it all that evening plus mom got out her Beatle albums. My mom was kinda in shock & never said a lot that evening. After all these years, I still remember. December 8th, 1980 is always a sad day but we also have John's great music that has survived after all these years & will continue to do so. John is definitely missed.
@@MikeCee7 Jack Douglas has been John's producer/engineer since the days of Imagine. He was very close to the couple in the months before his death. Yoko feuded with him in the mid-1980s because he demanded unpaid royalties from Double Fantasy.
I was twenty when it happened. I got up for breakfast and my mom in the kitchen told me listen to the news! I was shocked. Stunned! I sat down at the table and said "WHAT?"HE WAS SHOT? HE'S DEAD? DEAD? I couldn't eat at all.
The gentleman at the beginning of the clip is Jack Douglas, John Lennon’s producer for Double Fantasy. Here’s an intv he gave the day after Lennon was murdered - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-9rvJcfzzYoQ.htmlsi=j28kzD45bcqZWRwW
Lennon shot from front. Chapman behind. Chapman 25 feet behind. Gun fired at close range. According to the doctor that was there and two nurses. New book called Mind Games coming out detailing this.
The way people felt about John is how I feel about Kurt. I’m not comparing them music wise I was just born in a different time. It’s been 43 years since John died. This year makes 30 years for Kurt. I’ve been waiting for a new icon to change music and I’m still waiting. It’s sad to say we will wait even longer.
that guy gave weird vibes... he was all smirky.. and what news camera goes up to someone like its a tv show lol thy dont even acknowledge the huge lights in their faces.... idk but this footage is really strange.
