I totally agree with the economists who argue that immigration (illegal or otherwise) is a major factor involved in attenuating the economic downturn we've been in. A lot of the normal conditions that create a "recession" have been in place (more or less) since the Fed inverted the yield curve over 2 years ago...except for those related to the *_labor market._* The unemployment rate has stayed near record lows. Job openings in the skilled labor markets have remained steady. The Services PMI's have been showing economic expansion (services are mostly labor) while the Manufacturing PMI's have been showing mild economic contraction (they are enduring high payroll costs while trying to retain employees due to the tight supply of skilled labor). The two ISM-PMI indexes have been largely flat for almost 2 years...which is totally frustrating for guys who use them as a source for trade ideas. 😡 This kind of analysis is standard stuff for Venture Capitalists, and as a former Junior Venture Capitalist JD Vance should know better. As an economic thinker, he's not that impressive.

oh, stories about peoples from primitive cultures forcefully resettled by government are aplenty in Poland.
