Im not a UNP supporter, but I truly admire the statesmanship shown by Hon. Ranil Wickramasinghe. He and Gotabaya should establish a joint government. That would be an effective government.

You are the great political mastermind of South Asia.

My family knew his uncle very well. I remember one of my relative went to his uncle and asked a favour from him. That was to get a letter of recommendation for his daughter to enrolled in to a famous school in SriLanka. Mr Ranil Wickremasinghe was the Minister for education that time period. I think it was early 90s. His uncles answer was " Even his mother asked he wouldn’t do that kind of things" I never forgot that words. When people call him thief and corrupted, my heart break for him. Every body in that parliament knows he is a very Honest man. That’s why JVP never accuses him. Sadly in SriLanka that kind of politicians have no place.

Arguably The best and most sincere Sri Lankan politician all time. He is the last example of gentlemen politics, not only in our country but in whole south Asia. His ideology of Liberal democratic politics is not welcome by moderate Srilankan voters, he never practice Temple politics, or street politics like Mahinda, he likes EVOLUTION while Mahina likes REVOLUTION, he likes ADVISORY, while Mahinda likes COMPULSORY, Mahinda is ultra populist politician, while this poor guy predominantly an honest Liberal politician. We Srilankans are very unfortunate not to have this great man as our Executive leader .

After loosing the presidential election in 2005 against Mahinda..till 2007 your politics looked not so bad.. In the light of crossing over of 17 UNP members including Karu to strengthen Mahi's hand's, there where UNP started to fall back drastically, though you had an MOU signed with Rajapaksha to extend your party support to Rajapaksha where necessary.. But uninformed crossing over of those MPs pushed UNP into a big trouble.. Thereafter the whole story of the UNP started to collapse . No of unexpected.unacceptable things happened..all these demonstrate that you have a hidden deal with Rajapaksha's behind the screen.. according to Rajapaksha's request..you did not allow anybody to emerge in the party take over the party and thereby the country..

Educated alright! But it’s past time for you retire and get out please.
