This song is basically a Steve Taylor-esque way of saying that you need to get in line with God, because in hell, the temporal things you enjoyed on earth, like "breakfast", won't matter much if you end up there for eternity. As you may have already figured out, it's not intended to be a theological "thee-thou-thine-shalt-eth" hymn, mainly because it was written by Steve Taylor (as mentioned earlier). You probably don't know who that is, so I'll help you out: Steve was well known as a Christian artist back in the 80s/90s whose songs contained lyrics that seemed goofy, but were incredibly deep once you understood the meaning behind them. If you check out other Newsboys' songs from back in the 90s, like "Shine" or "Take Me To Your Leader", you'll notice they have the same structure as this one. Same writer, strange lyrics, but deep Christian messages overall.
