Dear RU-vid people, if you want to comment on this video, please consider the following.
You can see this is a long post, but I hope you find the time to read it. If not, that's okay too.
I would like to say something to you all. On almost every Christian RU-vid video there is a discussion about whether or not there is a God. I find this annoying and hope it doesn't evolve on this particular video that I posted. Some discussion is already going on here. To be honest, these kind of discussions are getting old and boring. I don't know where else I can put my thoughts on this, so here is what I have to say:
To the people who argue there is no God: please don't come here to try to convince us that something that means a lot to us isn't there. We don't mean any harm to anyone, we are not forcing this song or our believes on you, even though you might see it that way sometimes. We have been touched by something that we would like to share with each other. It is only normal that when you find something that fills your heart with joy, that you want to share that with others.
Believe it or not, most of us have thought a lot about all the arguments against God, especially in this day and age where scientists often claim that he does not exist. Many great knowledgeable and intelligent Christian thinkers and scientists however have also helped us realize that not all that modern science claims is correct. We are not ignorant, far from it, we know what we believe in and what we stand for.
I dare to argue we know more about your side of things than you know about ours. If that is also the case for you and you want to know more about how Christians view the world and how we believe the existence of God is evident in nature (thus scientifically plausible), I would recommend you read Tim Keller's The Reason for God. It is a very readable yet comprehensive book on this topic. If you have read it and you still don't agree with us, then that is fine. I just hope it at least makes you respect and understand our view of things a little bit more. If you do not find it important enough to explore this topic more, then you should also not find it important enough to comment on videos such as this like the way you do now.
Finally, even if your knowledge of our side is plentiful, like some of you might have already demonstrated in your comments, you should know that your comments on this video won't make us change our believes, for it is mostly a matter of the heart.
To the people who try to convince others that there is a God that cares about us: I don't think it makes a difference to argue against someone who finds it necessary to come on a Christian RU-vid video to try to convince you that there is no God.
Some of these people have obviously thought this through considering all their elaborate argumentations, and they have come to the conclusion that there is no God. I don't know why they find it so important to try to take away our faith. Perhaps they have had bad encounters with people who claim to be Christian, perhaps they think we should be liberated of what they perceive as pure ignorance, or they just don't understand us and are irritated by that. I am sorry if they have in fact had horrible experiences with Christians or the Church. If it was the behavior of Christians that has led to their anger it is because the grace of God has not been demonstrated to them through our fellow Christians. That should serve as a warning to us. I am even more sorry that they have not been given the opportunity to know God and spend time with him, and I hope that someday they will, but hardly anyone has ever been convinced of the existence of God solely based on logical argumentation, because it is foremost a matter of the heart you know.
If I am wrong about this, and someone who reads this has in fact changed his/her beliefs based on this or any RU-vid discussion between Christians and non-believers, then please tell me and I will stand corrected. :-)
