Thank you for remind me my Own situation but in my Case i Discovered The musical *ELEVEN YEARS* late, i said this Because The show was made in 2011 and i find out about this musical in my Quarentine in 2022
God, everything about this song is stunning-the accents compliment it well, and the piano at the beginning is so smooth. This may be my favorite song out of Newsies.
personally i like the world will know. this vid actually came in clutch cause we are doing newsies as the school play this year and we got carrying the banner as the vocal workshop song
just me who loves race's part? you know, "curdleeeed coffeeeee, concreeete donuts spriiiinkled with mooold..."? it's like my favorite part of this whole musical (except "that's pitiful.")?
Got a feelin' 'bout a headline! I smells me a headline! Papes are gonna sell like we was giving them away! Bet'cha dinner it's a doozy 'bout a pistol-packing floozy. Don't know any better way to make a Newsies day! I was stakin' out the circus, and then someone said that Coney's really hot, but when I got there, there was Spot and all his cronies. Heck, I'm gonna take what little dough I got and play the ponies! We at least deserves a headline for the hours that they work us. Jeez, I bet if I just stayed a little longer at the circus! DO YOU KNOW HOW HARD THAT IS TO SING THAT FAST?! Thats what I have to do for my school play and I'm both excited and scared lol
Okay, I'm so unbelievably late but if other people are confused about what on Earth group two is going on about like I was, here's what I think: *"Betcha dinner it's a doozy bout a pistol packing floozy"* they're talking about how great they think (read: hope) the headline is gonna be. *"Don't know a better way to make a newsies day!"*. I think that part is self explanatory lol. *"I was staking out the circus, and then someone said that Coney's really hot"* they were trying to sell papes over at the circus and then someone told them that Coney island (an area in Brooklyn) was hot, or good for business. *"But then when I got there there was Spot with all his cronies"* when they got to Coney island, spot and a bunch of his ✨thug buddies✨ were already selling there, so our boys had to nope on out. *"Heck, I'm gonna take what little dough I got and go play the ponies"* they're gonna head on down to the sheepshead races and bet the little money they got from the day to try and make more off it. *"We at least deserves a headline for the hours that they work us"* they're saying that they at least deserve a good headline for how much they're having to work.
2 months ago I went to see the newsies at the chanhassen can’t stop listening to them. I loved them before and after seeing a live show I am even more in love
such addictive music in this movie I felt it was like a mix of annie and oiiver a bit same clothes as oliver and talks about being rich like annie hehe. and plus cute guys back then!
BRUH. I'm button in my Local Community Theaters Newsies, and I just... why do i have to say " all I can catch is fleas" ? wHy mUsT i sAy tHis?!!? wHhYyyYYy?!?!?!
When i first saw this comment, I liked it and laughed. Now I have to learn it cuz I'm doing this show, and dont get me wrong, Im rlly happy about it but THAT PART 😩 its so many wooorrdddss
Isn't "You'll steal another." And not "Go steal another."? I watched the musical just yesterday and they said "You'll" Not "Go" so I got confused because i was gonna sing along with the musical
@@Sophiemnm they're both by disney lmao, i think you mean the original 1992 one which was an actual movie and the live one, which is a proshot of the stage musical rather than an actual movie.
Pulitzer is not a politician though. They aren’t referring to anyone in particular. They are just hoping that the newspaper’s headline is about a political scandal, that way they’ll sell more papers.
Here, I’m gonna try to explain it to you, line by line: [ Got a feeling’ ‘bout the headline, I smells me a headline. Betcha dinner it’s a doozy ‘bout a pistol packing’ floozy] Basically, what they’re saying is that they can feel that today’s headline is going to be something interesting or scandalous, which they’re exited about because their sales go up. [ I was Stalin’ at the circus and then someone said that Coney’s really hot.] They were trying to sell papes at the circus, but then someone informed them that Coney Island was a better selling spot. [But then when I got there, Spot and all his cronies] So, they went to Coney, but saw Spot Conlon and his gang, which probably scared them away. [Heck, I’m gonna take what little dough I got and play with the ponies.] Basically, since they lost the Coney Island selling spot, our newsies decided to take what little money they have and go to the sheepshead racetracks and gamble (to earn more money). [We at least deserves a headline for the hours that they work us] Pretty self explanatory. They wish to get a juicy, sellable headline to earn good money for all the work they put in. [Jeez, I bet if I just stayed a little longer at the circus] They regret leaving their selling spot at the circus in favor of Coney Island. The journey there was useless, since Spot and his boys were already selling there. They think that they might have sold more papes, had they stayed longer at their initial spot. Hope this helps.

See us out there Carrying the banner! Always out there Carrying the banner! Ah, ah, ah, go!
even if Jack Kelly doesn't have so much lines in this song ( i mean " Carry in the Banner") i usually choose to follow only his parts of the song, because honestly i am very obsessed with the actor who played him originally in the musical ( I mean Jeremy Jordan)
