NEWSIES Cut Songs

Then I See You Again lets Katherine and Jack finally drop their over-confident acts and show their vulnerability. Something to Believe In is just the standard Disney Couple Power Ballad we've been hearing for almost thirty years.

“the news is getting better” walked so “the bottom line” could run 😩 it was probably cut for good reasons but damn, i wish it had stayed!

Then I See You Again I actually prefer over Something to Believe In, way more romantic and shows not only the love between these characters but the friendship they have built upon and really packs an emotional punch with what the story of Newsies is: Keeping faith in a new beginning and realising tomorrow is something worth winning (love those two lines just GORGEOUS!!)

Oh man, I actually like "The News Is Getting Better" a lot more than "The Bottom Line." I LOVE the Golden Age vibe it's got.

I feel the romance between Jeremy and Kara more with Then I See You Again than Something to Believe In.

These are just my opinions, please feel free to disagree! :) 1) The News song isn’t bad, but I’m really glad they decided to go with The Bottom Line. I think there’s more momentum and tension in that one, it’s a bit more interesting in context, and it fits the show better 2) Why the freak didn’t they include the full Meda Larkin song?! That was fantastic!! 3) Then I See You Again is gorgeous & absolutely gives me the feels & shows a vulnerable side to their relationship. But I still adore Something to Believe In. I think both showcase their relationship in unique ways. Thank you for posting! :)

Omg I love Pulitzer’s song at the beginning so much better than the bottom line, I’d ditch nuncio in a second for this song instead and OMG THE JACK AND KATHERINE DUET WAS. SO AMAZING!!!! My favorite song in the musical was I never planned on you/Don't come a knockin. But I always had a feeling it was a bit short. Now I'm satisfied.

I feel like Something to Believe In fits the ‘ vibe ‘ of Newsies better, being Disney and all. It’s just my opinion. That being said, I’m completely in love with Then I See You Again and almost prefer it.

The premise of the first song is pretty cool but it definitely portrays Pulitzer too much as a self-loving egotist, when he’s really more of a power-hungry, focused businessman. It’s catchy tho 😂

I love and then I see you again More. We see more of a realness to their relationship. We see more vulnerability with Jack and with Kathrine we have more of a love for Jack. And that damn cute arm wrap at the end. I know I’m super late, but I don’t care. I would’ve preferred this over Something to Believe In. That song is the typical fluff ball of Disney. This shows realness
