I stuck 2 sheets of newspaper together, then shaped the top side with scissors (looks a little like top of heart). I then cut slits from bottom to about half way, then overlapped them and stuck with tape. You can find your desired shape by putting it against you or your model and folding he paper in appropriate areas. I stuck tape to the edges of the newspaper before sticking to reduce ripping when taking off. I stuck flows to the string with tape aswell. Hope I have helped and not confused you 😄

Thanks :) if you have a mannequin definitely use that as working around a pillow was quite hard. Also make sure every piece you attach is really secure as if your making a big dress then it ends up being quite heavy so there is a lot of strain on the newspaper. My dress lasted quite a while however it does slowly droop over time from the weight. Hope your dress turns out well

My dress isn't strong enough to wear for a long time. I created the dress so that it was two parts. There was the skirt which is tied with string so it is easy to get in and out as you can simply tighten and loosen it. For top i put a layer of tape on the newspaper where I would be sticking it together. That way when I attached it I could remove the tape on top of the layer of tape I stuck earlierwithout it ripping. The other thing you could do is cut a slit when you want to get out then stick it together when you want to wear it?

Hey :) In the end I decided not to attach the top and skirt as it would mean I couldn't put it on and off. Instead I tucked the top into the skirt. I'm not too sure about how quickly you can make it as a team but I guess it depends on how many there are of you. Hope it goes well :)

Thanks. I ended up leaving them unattached however when they are on they appear attached. For the top I used cellotape around where it joins first so that when I stuck the cellotape over the top I could put it on and off without ripping the paper

vivian felicia hi :) I didnt connect the top and skirt. I put the top piece on and then made the skirt overlap it so that it appeared connected. I kept them separate as I didnt want the weight for the skirt to tear the top. I hope this helped.

vivian felicia hi 😊 I personally just kept holding it up to my body to see how big I needed it and cut it accordingly but measuring it would probly do a good job aswell.

Thank you. I also made mine for school and glad you enjoyed the song :) Cut a newspaper in 1/2 so it is just one page, then fold it back and forwards like You are making a fan. Fold the fan in half and cut the fold. Cut a small slit either side in the middle then tie some string/wool round the slits. Fan it out in a circle and cello tape where it joins. Hope this helped and I hope it turns out well for you :)

Tayler Jade acctually we have not yet started just need a guidance that how we should start and how much practice we need...since u hv an idea of make paper dresses u must be knowing tht if we 6 ppl work on it how much time will one dress take

Nidhi Mehta I had never made anything like this before making this dress and alone it took me roughly 3 days. With 6 of you working together you should be able to finish 1 dress in less time than me :) The most important thing is to have LOTS of nwwspaper! I started out with sticking together pieces for under the skirt. Remeber this will be covered so don't worry too much about what it looks like at this stage. I would suggest using a lot more tape than i did so that it is stronger.

I have never used fabric glue on newspaper but if you try on a tester piece this wpuld probably work/look much better :) if you need any help along the way let me know. I would love to see the finished product
