Even though that's just the letter in the movie it still makes my heart melt. The actual letter was : Kill me. If you've ever been my friend, Kill me.

Dear Newt, You didn’t deserve the ending you had. You didn’t deserve to die so young. You deserved to live to an old age and sit around the fire with Tommy and Minho and be remembering all of the friends that you’ve lost. You deserved to have a husband and kids, who would be there for you if you ever had nightmares from the glade. You should have remembered your sister, walk up to her quietly, and tap her on the shoulder. “Lizzy?” “Newt, I’m Sonya. You should know that by now.” “No, you’re Lizzy. And I’m so happy that you’re here to see me. I’m so happy that I’m not dead.” “How would you know what my name was?” “Lizzy, we were siblings. I was your brother. You were my sister.” And then Lizzy would fall into your arms, sobbing. You should have, one day, have peacefully passed away. Not being stabbed, shot, or murdered. Not committing suicide. Just passing away peacefully. And then, when you were an angel, (which we all know that you already were), you would see all of the other gladers. “Newt.” It was Alby, shocked to see his old friend. “Newt!” He was knocked over by Chuck. “Alby, Chuck, Winston! I listen to Newt reading the letter every day and I cry everytime. To Newt: Thank you for letting me know that the most important thing in life is to fight for yourself, for your friends and besides your friends until the very end. ❤

Him and Thomas fought so hard for mihno newt didn’t care about him having to turn into a crank at the end all he cared about was getting mihno. And I thought about it, towards the end newt fought super hard to help get mihno back and this was because he knew he was gonna die due to him having the virus and he wanted to make sure they got mihno back so Thomas wouldn’t be alone. 😭 RIP newt you won’t be forgotten

The fact that Thomas wrote the letter himself, and read the letter next to Dylan (off camera, obviously) just makes this scene even more heartbreaking.

Every time i listen to this i cry even tho its just a movie its breaks my heart how he already knew he wouldnt make it 😭

After you made it to the safe haven, you felt like you couldn't be happy. You knew why. Your best friend, the person you relied on the most was dead. After a year of Minho constantly checking on you and your mental health and you always faking it, you decided you needed a change. So you went on the weekly search for immunes. You killed a bunch of way past the Gone cranks and came back happier than you have been in a while. You talked to Minho and told him you were going to your room to wash up. Dirt smudged on your face, hair flowing behind you, you went upstairs. You opened the door and there he was. " Newt? " You fell to your knees, tears began to flow. " Is that you? " He stood up and hugged you tightly. " Hey, I've got you. " He whispered. " How, how are you alive? I watched, I watched as the life poured out of you. " I blacked out for a moment and woke up just in time to see the building explode. I grabbed this syringe that had landed next to me somehow. It looked important and medical and in my crazed state, I decided that it would probably do more good than harm seeing as I was dying. I stuck it in my arm and the result was almost immediate. Turns out, whatever that syringe had in it made me immune. Of course, there was still a knife in my chest, but on my way out, I met a man. He helped me. " He took off his shirt. " Look, barely even a scar. Still, all I could think about was you. It's taken me a year, but with Wicked gone, I was able to steal one of the Bergs. I've finally found you. He hugged you tightly again as tears poured onto his chest. " I love you. " He whispered. Minho knocked on the door. " Come in! " You said as your voice broke. " Minho! You survived! " Newt shouted. Minho's jaw dropped and he backed out of the room. A few minutes later, he came back with Thomas and you all had a get-together. Nothing had ever felt as satisfying as that moment did.

You could even see in Thomas' eyes when he read the letter in the movie that he knew he had messed up. He definitely wanted to save Newt so badly. I still miss Newt till this day, he was and still is my favorite character. He was the one who deserved to be happy the most. Let's all cry together. Rest in peace, Newt ❤️

Goodbye, Newt. You are the great friend, very loyal one. You are the glue, the second in command, a very likeable person. With you, everything is beautiful and perfect. Fly high, darling. Hope to see you again, someday. Everybody misses you and loves you so much. Your friends too. Especially, Tommy. They will never forget you. We all love you. R.I.P Newt

Dear Newt, Its the TMR fandom here... WE want to say you didn't deserve the ending you had. You didn't deserve anything that happened to you. You didn't deserve to be put in the maze... no one did, but although your gone here's the things that you should've lived to see... You should've stayed alive to live at the safe haven you deserved to be happy with Tommy and Minho. You deserved a Husband and kids. You deserved everything.. You deserved to remember your sister.. and share precious memories from your childhood with her. You most of all deserved to remember.. Right now I'm speaking from my experiences but I think I go by saying I'm also speaking for everyone... Newt, You were one of my favourite characters for so many reasons but here is a portion of some.. You were so grateful for everything you had it didn't matter how much you struggled to get to it as-long as others were happy you were fine. You knew that you were gonna die yet you sacrificed all your time and dedicated it to save Minho. Another reason is: You were relatable not like one of those superhuman people but instead one of those that had gone through so much but was prepared to sacrifice it all just to see your friends happy.. When I heard the story of how you broke your leg it truly hit me as a person who struggles with suicidal thoughts and SH I was so happy that finally I could relate to a character, But from the moment I knew you were gonna die I cried, I cried all night until there were no tears left, and yes I know its just a movie... its just a character... not to me... to me it was comfort something I knew I could always look back to on moments of struggle. - Freya Now for the rest, You didn't deserve to die so young, instead you should've lived to old age sitting around the beach with Tommy and Minho sharing stories from the glade. You should've died peacefully surrounded by people who love you not by a stabbing, shooting or the flare... WE still have hope for you but as we know its a long shot. WE all miss you newt and I hope you look down on all the people at the safe haven as an angel spending as much time with Alby, Chuck and Winston. Just know there's not a day that goes by without any of the fandom and characters missing you. Love from, The TMR Fandom and me Freya..

I’ve watched this scene a million times and I’ve cried a million times. I have never cried even when my favourite characters died but Newt was the only one whose death made me cry my eyes out. This scene is soo heartbreaking😭😭.

when I saw the death cure, i decided that I would play my favorite sad song in someone death scene. I started the song and it perfectly aligned with the scene, making the ending of the song when tommy realizes what he’s done. the song is called Sour Breath by Julien Baker. it really shows how much he tried, yet he could’ve just waited for thirty seconds and newt would still be alive..

“Take care of everyone, and take care of yourself” mama noot making sure his glader babies r protected until the end. 🥺💛 he’s so sweet and selfless and gentle and he deserved the world, but in the end, there was nothing we could do to save him. He will always be remembered in our hearts, and the biggest hero in this whole series. He gave his life for his friends, and fought for them to the end. True love requires sacrifice and newt showed that he truly loved his best friends from the glade.... 💛
