That'd require Nexon to have forward planning. They saw money and jumped on it. Have the booster, remove the cap. Goddamn man. This would have been fine if the cap was never there
People would be a lil upset, but that's it. Instead they went full greed and added the cap to make people WANT to buy this since then they would miss out on the daily cap...
Sol erda booster was nexons endgame. I just don't get why they ruin what was supposed to be the biggest update. And the 2 things that will run me the wrong way is that there are gonna be some endgame nerds who will buy this booster, and the fact that all of this probably started from the clover event. W haiku as well funny af
I'm so glad I'm a new player and i'm able to quit this game without feeling bad about myself. it seems like a lot of you are stuck with that sunk cost fallacy. praying for each and everyone one of you, that someday you may also break free from those nexon chains. good luck, friends
For those who may just say "don't buy it! They're not forcing you to". The issue is that they intentionally kept this secret until people had to find out, they're starting to clearly make a difference between kms and gms, and the lack of proper communication with the community shows their lack of care. Wonki mentioned that he was thinking of doing this for arcane symbols but chose not to. I guess he had no issue with soul erda. Wonki is spearheading all these money events and nothing is stopping him.
this 100% wonkis doing, he was trying the same shit back then with 5th job trying to make people pay with nx to level up symbols. He probably couldn't pull it off because some actual korean employees with brains stopped him. Now that is in charge of the overseas servers he can go full pigmode without anyone keeping him in check. That guy needs to get frking fired. 141
Brooo it's not even a full sol erda in the booster, it's an intense sol erda energy AKA 200 soul erda ENERGY. That's 20% of a sol erda. Even the booster value is trash w/o even mentioning the omega trash concept of it
I wouldn't care THAT much if maplestory was subscription based, except for the fact that Nexon is already like bottom of the barrel customer service and company in general and I don't think that would improve at all by giving them more money.
I know a game that limits grinding, it's my favourite game sadly. The point is to create artificual scarcity so that people are drawn to pay to win options for item upgrades since those options will protect the time gated investments. They further incentivise this by making the item scaling once there's a break chance is doubled compared to the no break chance tier difference, then offer no break charms in the cash shop. Game is ArcheAge if anyone was wondering.
I honestly wouldn’t mind if this game needed a subscription to play if they actually focused on what the players want and made the game more enjoyable. But all they care about is squeezing every penny they can out of us and shoving endless dailies down our throats
They were already trying to make it a subscription game by testing the waters with the petvacs and people accepted. So they tried pushing this. Nexon will eventually try again once people get used to the idea even if they yield now.
So many people are starting to make excuses for the booster, and I'm getting flashbacks from my days playing WoW. Tons of people had Stockholm syndrome when Blizz started to go downhill. You can tell they can't quit because they're addicted, or they built their entire community around the game. Unfortunately that's the cost of trusting a venomous snake. Eventually it might end up biting you. That's why it's a bad idea to play a game from a predatory company. Because people get caught up in the sunk cost, dopamine, etc and literally cannot quit. It's like a drug.
There are gacha games that limit progression to dailies/weeklies and sell battle passes or other login rewards to get material.. it seems like the trend
p2w for job advancement where the damage boost has historically been the reward for grinding and reaching a certain level is disgusting and vile by nexon however paying to speed up rewards from an EVENT (clover) is fine because it is an event and doesnt it doesn't gatekeep progression behind a paywall
My only explanation..they want to push GMS/MSEA into being extremely casual dailystory who pay for convenience. THEY WANT US to play maple like a predatory mobile game
Hey Duky, can you release a video "Why you should play New Age Maplestory" to attract all the new/returning player attention; then do a bait & switch as to why they shouldn't play? Thank you
Clovers actually closed the gap between new players and mid game. It was the only way I could get back into the game and feel strong. People pushed back on clovers…… mostly the no lifers that didn’t want others to have some funding. Bring back clovers please….
The fact that this crap is double the cost of ff14 OR WoW is hilarious. Like a few resources a month for double the price of 2 the biggest MMOs in the world?!?!?!?! Nexon is clearly out of touch...
I think what's super crazy is something you touched up on as well. You can no longer make a sub main or swap mains without becoming instantly years behind in progression.. Can't even daily cap on multiple charas? just 1?? yikes.
Bro ff14 is like 14 bucks a month a 😂 30 for erda, 15 for vac pet, and then whatever the fuck else they put in is wild. Thats half my internet bill for a dumb ass game mechanic.
Didn’t they remove wild totems to be the same as kms? But now you wanna be different from kms with this… could of atleast put a level cap on wild totems to at least 220 since game doesn’t even work until you’re 200
lool is this only happening to GMS? I was actually playing on Maplesea server and thinking of transfer to GMS reboot like few weeks ago go. But I guess maybe not now.
Being a mapler hard these days is hard, i also had a hard time quitting. I been there with calling all the stuff out on this game. But I reign and quit being a voice 😕
Because they might release a shitty optional p2w booster item? I mean of all the hills to die on. U coulda quit when they made starforcing cost billions while nerfing every possible source of meso making or any other time Wonky fistfked the playerbase for monetary gain but THIS is where u draw the line?
I’ve uninstalled the game already and will chargeback as much as I can if any of the proposed nerfs are implemented. Everyone should maintain their self-respect. Letting others disrespect you without resistance won’t lead to happiness in life; change is essential. I’ll be honest-I was tempted to reinstall the game once the 1,000 nodestones are available, to avoid wasting them. But I won’t. It’s important to uninstall and not reconsider unless nexon reverses the changes. A lot of people in the community are saying these nerfs are typical nexon behavior and are purely profit-driven. It’s obvious, and nobody would argue against that-that would be idiotic. What’s even more idiotic is to accept it without resisting. Yes, the game mechanics and the company’s approach are, quite literally, a toxic relationship. We’ve been desensitized to getting railed in the ass so much. We’ve come to believe our opinions are useless and won’t amount to anything. However, this is not the case-money talks. It may be hard for some players to stop spending due to addiction. Yet, YOU have the power to choose: continue to be exploited or exercise self-control. YOUR actions and responses are within YOUR control, not nexon, not others. If quitting the game cold turkey is too much, start playing less. If you can’t stop spending money your hard earned money, then spend less. Ideally, ceasing all involvement is best, but any reduction will affect Nexon’s metrics, be it in revenue or average player login time. Let’s stand together as a community and make Wonki the dictator realize he can’t just step all over us; we won’t go down without a fight.
This game has been sadstory for so long. The potential of the game has always been great but Nexon could just never get there. Time gate after time gate on everything.
Are we really surprised by the guy who got so frustrated with the community trying to ask for improvements that he stared off into space and paused/closed(I can’t remember) a livestream. Guy is single handedly ruining this game.
Complaining will not solve this issue. You guys won't change anything because none of you will fully commit to not paying them a dime and straight up quitting the game. Don't log on again, that solves the problem no matter how attached you are it's really that simple. If they decide after enough quit maybe we shouldn't do that and revert re-download. But if they refuse commit to leaving
i knew it... create a problem $ell the $olution whelp, i was gona be a new player... not anymore, good luck if you play wow season of discovery i'll see you around xD oh, dont missunderstand, ill play the game until wow new season comes out (30 of november or so) but use money? lol no
I don't mind monthly passes for games as long as the benefits are good enough but this is absolutely disgusting. Glad I stopped playing this game long ago and found better MMOs to spend my time on. 😊
I rather spend my money for mesos from the botters. When these nexon pigs finds out most of their potential incomes went to the hackers/botters instead, only then they will atleast try to make an effort to fix it. Hopefully
If they used this to remove the cap that would make sense. They do need more ways to make money from reboot players since gms is not making money and have been showing losses.
Always loved your content and your charisma. It's a shame you wanted to engage in shady stuff to artificially accelerate your account growth. I was extremely disappointed and can never view your content the same way. I'm surprised you'd want to keep trying to make content to this community that you lied to and then tried to gaslight (multiple times) but I respect it. Another banger video, cheers and hope you can achieve your dreams. You are talented, you don't need crutches to make it work, please don't disappoint your remaining audience again.
In terms of amount of time needed in game to max out 6th job, gms will be faster. The cash shop item aside, what cap would be fair in that you'd view the slower but higher ceiling grind of kms to be no better than the easier but time gated gms system? Can nexon fix gms by just increasing the cap? Surely if drop rates are better in gms and the cap was say, 2000, wouldn't we agree the gms system is better? If they released this same cash shop item but with the kms system, would we feel differently about it? Personally, I think I'd prefer nexon just increase the cap instead of switching to the kms system. If we're asking them to keep the daily and the faster drop rates, but remove the cap entirely, then I think we're being a bit greedy.
You severely undermined the players who grind in this game that is literally made for you to grind in. The problem here is not about drop rate it’s about the ability to grind period being restricted when nobody BUT GMS is being restricted there is no rhyme or reason for it and tacked on last minute…also please tell me how 1.2-2.1 years will be faster to max out our skills in the FIRST wave of skills? Vs other regions that can go full throttle 24/7? (Healthy or not is not for anyone to police but the player)
@@KradilyOk then I'll repeat the question to you: what cap do you think is fair considering the gms drop rate will be faster and we get an extra daily? If we can accomplish what would take say, 10 hours in kms to replicate, would you still prefer the kms system and play 10 hours a day every day, or would you prefer to get that amount of progress in 30 minutes but be capped? It's not going to affect everyone the same. Some people will be hurt by the difference more than others, and I'm not commenting on the rhyme or reason of the change, just what we should consider fair. I think at a minimum we can agree 400 is not enough, but what is?
@@Kradily Is the cap being 30,000 now enough that you'd prefer the gms system (assuming the newest update with sea makes it to gms)? I know from my perspective, I can't find any reason to want the kms version of no cap considering we have a daily, faster drop rates, and the option to buy them with cash if we want. The only negative difference is they're untradeable. This was my point, there is a balance somewhere with the cap where at some point both systems are fair. Personally I think we're big winners in this change and moving it all the way to 30k gives us a huge advantage over kms players.
